Commercial Description:
Our award-winning stout is rich and malty with hints of chocolate and coffee. It’s what espresso would be if it had the gumption to be beer. Makes a great dessert...or meal.

I have had many times but today it was most worthy. Most of the bitterness lingering that is typical of Mercury is not present today. Smoother coffee and chocoalte malt not too heavy. Oh yeah nice head retains well.

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of oats, chocolate, some cocoa, hints of roastiness. Tastes of sweet chocolate, molasses, some raisins, some coffee, hints of bitterness. Pretty well rounded. I’m really enjoying this line of beers.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a fading light brown head. Aroma of coffee and molasses. Full, oily body and minimal carbonation. Lighly sweet taste with coffee, vanilla, brown sugar. Burnt toast, espresso and grapefruit finish.

It looked godd in the glass. The hops came in first, followed by a thin malt flavor. The result was out of balance.

INKY black with a ton of creamy brown head. Aroma is chocolate dominant with hints of alcohol. Flavor is coffee and super dark cocoa chocolate. Lots of roast flavor, hints of carbon, and oak. For an oatmeal stout I’d expect a bit more creaminess in the mouthfeel, but despite that this is a really enjoyable stout. I really like it.
