COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our award-winning stout is rich and malty with hints of chocolate and coffee. It’s what espresso would be if it had the gumption to be beer. Makes a great dessert...or meal.

12oz bottle from The Beer Store in Wilson. Black hue, zero visibility with fully lasting thick frothy caramel head. Fair lacing. Moderate coffee, chocolate, malt and alcohol aroma. Heavy bitter chocolate & coffee up front with a medium coffee & malt finish. Dry on the palate. I would drink this one again.

1/12/13. 12oz bottle thanks to rdixon77. Black pour with a small tan head. Quite toasty on the aroma, ash, charcoal, some coffee and very dark chocolate. Ashy flavor, charcoal, coffee, straight up black malts. Slick mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Not bad.

Bottled: unk ABV 6.4% Black with some tannish foam. Initial nose comes through with good, strong oats and tootsie rolls, graham and some nice, nice cocoa. Nice nose. Slightly dry, coffee toned, grainy, oaty flavor up front with some nice bitterness on the back end. Nice malt character on this beer - so far soo good on this one. Thick and smooth with a lighter carb and semi dry character. Nice beer, really nice surprise. Serving type: bottle 05-03-2012

Gravicask, American Bar at GBBF 2013. Deep, dark brown body. Diminishing light brown head. Inviting aroma of vanilla, bread, and cocoa powder. Vanilla chocolate taste joined by oats followed by a semi-dry, roasted malty ending. Fine bodied. One of my best American beers at the festival (London Olympia 14.08.2013).

Cask at Great British Beer Festival 2013. Poured a thick black with medium, rocky tan head. Nutty aroma with roasted malt and liquorice. Flavours of coffee, dark chocolate and dark fruit. Palate is a little sharp, but with good lingering burnt toast and oak flavours.

Ipswich Oatmeal Stout has a very thick, creamy, tan head, lots of thick lacing left behind on the glass, and a very dark (essentially, black) appearance. The aroma is of very sweet, dark-roasted, chocolatey, barley malt, with coffee notes. It smells a lot like a chocolate oatmeal cookie. The flavor is of rich, sweet, chocolate, dark coffee, heavy, but pleasant bitterness, oatmeal, and black bread. There is an acidic sourness, too. Mouthfeel is medium-heavy and slimy, and Ipswich Oatmeal Stout finishes semi-dry, sweet, and drinkable. The alcohol is simply not picked up with this one. Overall, this is an outstanding beer! RJT
