Sammy (3023), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 29, 2008 These fellas know how to brew. A great melange of coffee, some chocolate. Incfedibly smooth. Some vanilla, full mouthfeel. Superior stout and oatmeal stout.
EithCubes (1797), Indiana, USA Aug 17, 2008 Bottle. Lovely oily espresso nose, dark and chocolaty with strong but comfortable roast and slippery oats. Pitch pour with a creamy light/dark brown head. Taste is dark, dry, and nicely bittersweet, finishing and lasting dry roast. Burned notes rather than coffee. Chocolate is similar to that in many impies but without any accompanying fruit (does have lactose, though). Medium body, touch of oiliness, and subtle bg hops toward the back. Smooth and creamy with just a little prickle. Touch of cracker splashed with light citrus, alcohol is well-hidden. Classic dark, dry stout, and a textbook definition of a dessert beer. Superlative for style. gameface23 (78), Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA Aug 8, 2008 Pours a pitch black with a 1/2 a finger tan head that doesn’t last very long. Strong nose of dark chocolate covered espresso beans. The taste is of black coffee and chocolate. RCL (999), Boston, Massachusetts, USA Aug 4, 2008 Terrific coffee aroma with hint of chocolate. Fairly dry, dark roasted flavor. A really solid stout. Chia (13), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Jul 29, 2008 the pours an impenetrable black color and a tan 1\2 inch head. its aroma contains strong hints of coffee, oats, toasted malts and some sweetness. tastes spectacular with strong notes of oats and coffee. a great beer klavoie22 (6), Newmarket, New Hampshire, USA does not count Jul 27, 2008 1/2 Gallon pitcher (hard to find but refillable at the brewery). Dark, rich and delicious, leaves little to be desired.
