COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our award-winning stout is rich and malty with hints of chocolate and coffee. Itís what espresso would be if it had the gumption to be beer. Makes a great dessert...or meal.

(Bottle) Looks syrupy, jet black, as opaque as coffee, with no head. Aroma clean, vanilla-y, highly alcoholic. Aroma is tantalizing like a bottle of really high-grade vanilla extract. Flavour: nicely bitter, without being overwhelming. A rich texture emerges, some sort of coarse carbonation present. DAMN this beer is good. Rich and complex enough to sip like a good wine, but good for straight up drinking too.

Ipswich Oatmeal Stout has a very thick, creamy, tan head, lots of thick lacing left behind on the glass, and a very dark (essentially, black) appearance. The aroma is of very sweet, dark-roasted, chocolatey, barley malt, with coffee notes. It smells a lot like a chocolate oatmeal cookie. The flavor is of rich, sweet, chocolate, dark coffee, heavy, but pleasant bitterness, oatmeal, and black bread. There is an acidic sourness, too. Mouthfeel is medium-heavy and slimy, and Ipswich Oatmeal Stout finishes semi-dry, sweet, and drinkable. The alcohol is simply not picked up with this one. Overall, this is an outstanding beer! RJT

2004 Bottle. From the fantastic aroma and lovely thick head, to the jet black pour, this beer is a delight to the senses. Until you drink it; then it delights again. The sweet oats; the round mouthfeel; and the bright hoppy finish make this beer one of my favourites!

Inviting aroma hintsof deep roasted coffee, some bitter chocolate and a tinge of hops. Very dark pour with a muted chocolate head. Rich flavor and full mouthfeel. Lots of roasted malts bouncing with bitter chocolate. Great stout!

Wow! I bought a six pack of this on a whim without reading any reviews. What an incredible beer! This pours pitch black into a pint glass with what is perhaps the darkest colored head Iíve experienced to date. The aroma is instant chocolate and coffe and some big hearty malt scents. Mmmmm. The flavor is much like the aroma with a chocolate flavour being the most dominant. This is a full, heavy stout that just feels good in the mouth. Very smooth and creamy. Overall, I was very, very impressed with this oatmeal stout. I wish it was easier to find. Highly recommended to anyone who likes stouts. Awesome!

22 ounce bottle. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with an inch tan head that sticks around for a while. Thereís also a lot of lacing left behind on the glass. Aroma is nice and strong, it smells like roasted malt, oats, coffee, chocolate and a bit of vanilla. The taste is just like the aroma, itís all roasted malt, oats, coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Thereís good balance between the roasty, sweet and bitter flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís a little creamy and coating with good carbonation. I have to say this is a pretty good overall brew, itís one of if not the best oatmeal stouts Iíve ever had. Itís an excellent deal for just $5.99 a bomber, I definitely recommend this one!

Bottle. Smoky chocolate malt aroma. Black with a foamy brown head. Chocolate, coffee, wood, toasty malt, with a very light bitter finish. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Wow! LOVE this stuff!
