Our award-winning stout is rich and malty with hints of chocolate and coffee. It’s what espresso would be if it had the gumption to be beer. Makes a great dessert...or meal.

Poured from a large bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. The beer had a rich black color with a large creamy dark than head that had good retention, and excellent lacing and cling. Its aroma featured big roasty malt flavors of chocolate and coffee, along with tones of oats and caramel, and lighter touches of earthy hops. The taste was a pleasant sweet-bitter blend with toasty flavors of chocolate and coffee, along with caramel malt, and lighter background touches of earthy and grainy hops. It was a somewhat creamy beer, with average carbonation and life, and was a bit wet with a full, smooth, and fluffy mouthfeel that was a touch dry at the end.

Pours a dark brown. Heavy chocolate malts, a little smoky. Typical thin oatmeal stout. Okay beer.

Keg pour at Powder Keg Beer & Chili Festival. Aroma is chocolaty, roasted malts. Appearance is black pour, thin off-white head with nice lacing, no discernible sparkle. Taste is strong sweet roasted malts with some chocolate. Palate is surprisingly light bodied with slippery mouth feel and surprisingly lively carbonation. Overall, a good beer with a little light in the body and slightly overcarbonated.

Completely black, with a small light brown head. The aroma is filled with oatmeal, dark rye bread and sweet syrup. The taste is sweet, neutral, woody and with a short hop kick. Amazing.

Bottle. Pitch black pour with a nice micha head. Coffee, oat, roast, bitter chocolate. Medium smooth body. Relatively short slightly bitter finish. A bit more creaminess and body would be better

Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Nose is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, and some dried fruit notes. Flavor is balanced malty sweetness and dark-chocolate-like bitterness. Astringent finish. Full body. Moderate carbonation. Good brew.

22 oz bottle. Pours nearly black with a large and durable tan head. Nice lacing. The aroma carries more hops than expected English hops? O: disappointing given the high ratings on BA.

Mmm, this a very good beer all around! Attractive black pour w/ a tan head that leaves a nice circle of lacing. The aroma is dominated by the roasty notes w/ a touch of chocolate. The taste is quite robust & almost Russian imperial esque w/ the somewhat bitter finish. Great complexity for a stout & quite tasty! Fairly smooth as well - delicious!

22oz bomber. Opaque walnut-colored beer with a tan somewhat persistent head and light lacing. Aroma is somewhat sweet, roasted oats in it. Taste is pretty great, with lots of roasty toasty flavors and no hop bitterness--thick mouthfeel, enough to match the strong taste. Really nice beer, highly recommended for fans of the style.

"Big sweet roasty aroma and flavor. Pretty well balanced by ample bitterness, but in the end still a sweet beer with chocolate, coffee, a little smoke & dark fruit. Smooth and enjoyable."
