Pours a very dark brown with a dark tan head. Aroma is mostly made of chocolate and coffee, and is a bit woody as well. To me, the aroma is more on the lighter side, though. Taste is deep in chocolate while drinking, with a long lasting coffee aftertaste following. I detect a touch of licorice in the flavor. Overall leaves a roasted impression. Very creamy and smooth while drinking. Pretty good stout.

12oz bottle in an English pint. Pours black with a thick, lacy, light tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, a little bit of chocolate, plus a decent amount of bitter hops. Flavor the same with lots of oats and malts. Average texture, sort of smooth. A pretty good beer.

Draft pint - fantastic oatmeal stout with bold malty oats scent right off the bat.
Great blend of flavors from roasted malts and coffee to cocoa.
Very smooth, highly recommend!

Nice little stout. A little dry, but spirited. Thin, dirty tan head that retains sparkly bubbles around the edge.

This is a really tasty strong stout from Ipswitch. It is a plain black beer w/ but a scant ring of brownish head but it a strong coffee flavor permeates it to an extent where appearance hardly matters. It is fairly dry despite being on the higher end of the alcohol equation w/ a very strong herbal hop bitterness in the finish I have not tried a huge number of ipswitch brews but this is far and away the best so far.

22 ounce bottle - $4.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours out a black body with a foamy, tan-hued head.
Smell: Heavily toasted, charred bread crumbs with chocolate chips, slight espresso, oven-toasted oats, and a vague fruitiness.
Taste: Toast and roast and plenty of oats with bittersweet chocolate morsels. Medium-light sweetness. Faint dark fruitiness. Pinch of average-priced espresso powder. Underlying hops providing ample bitterness along with the roast tones of the malts. Roasty, lightly chocolaty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. It’s smooth enough.
Overall: It’s fine. Would’ve preferred a skosh less in the IBU department and just a bit more silkiness in the mouthfeel. Still, it’s fine. Fine, fine.
