argo0 (6229), Washington DC, USA Dec 30, 2006 (12oz bottle) Cloudy, particulate-filled amber body topped by a small off-white head that almost wholly dissipates. Aroma is medium sweet, peach, orange, some caramel, light grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet, caramel/toffee, orange, peach, some earthy, grapefruit. Light-medium body, light resin, acidity. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Aug 21, 2005 Bottle. Very light, but quite drinkable ale. Some lightly floral hops, with some grainy malt characters, pretty smooth. Some grapefruit characters. muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA May 16, 2005 12 oz bottle. Hazy-to-opaque reddish amber, slightly yeasty-looking, thick beautiful head dies fairly quickly...big citrusy nose, touch oaky and pungently hoppy...somewhat rough initial mouthfeel, smoothes out quickly with a fairly sweet, fruity-acidic texture and dry woody backdrop...could use a bit more malt and body, but overall this is quality stuff, with just the right carbonation and a memorable flavor/aroma profile. jcwattsrugger (4045), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Nov 27, 2006 GBof A PA-on tap-pours a light tan head and gold color. Aroma is medium malt, spices. Taste is medium malt, spices, some bitterness. OK carbonation. JoeMcPhee (3807), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Aug 7, 2008 Tap at Ginger Man. Amber beer, slightly hazy and topped by a creamy white head. Aroma is lightly sweet and malty with a fairly prominent butterscotchy nose. A bit oxidized as well. There is a sweet crystal/caramel nuttiness behind a herbal/woody hoppiness. Flavour is quite hoppy with a light fuggles-esque character along with some lightly yeasty character. Bread crusts and a touch of pear/peachy fruitiness. Despite all of the positive individual characteristics, this beer never really comes together for me.
