UPDATED: APR 3, 2015 500ml bottle (Irlbacher Bar, Riga) (6:4:6:4:12=3.2)
Very sweet malty caramel aroma, but they seem to be reinheitsgebot. Taste also sweet and malty. Quite simple, and directly related to the beer ingredients. Finish is where it gets interesting, first some husks, then liquorice, then seared-pork hops. Goes down rather well, covers 5.8 more than adequately, though sweetness hints to strength.
Rerate: 500ml bottle (Alust Tirgus, Riga) (6:4:6:4:13=3.3)
Pruney aroma. Extremely husky and walnutty taste and finish. Bran too. Papery from the bitter hops. Nice drunkable dunkel.

50cl bottle pours with a clear deep amber body that supports a tan head of foam. The modest aroma offers up a bit of roasted malts and then lesser degrees of caramel and mineral and chocolate malts. The taste begins with a slight roasted malt note mixing with a mineral sensation and heading quickly into a subtle vague hop bitterness that grows to midway. It then picks up light notes of prunes and figs dusted in brown sugar as a ribbon of roasted malts softly surge forward. The hops are hard to pin down and describe but they hang with the flavor right into the finish. Nice stuff indeed.
