Scuzz Twittly said it best when he crooned: "Iron City is shitty and the town smells like a turd/when you see black and gold just flip em the bird". It’s true. and who am I to disagree with Scuzz? No muy amigo, avoid this, like you avoid sobriety. Head to the warm loving embrace of Blatz....which is ALL that is right in this world. It is what it is....and shall be....or not.

Pours a transparent straw yellow color with a creamy white head. Aroma of corn, bread, and not much else. Corn malt flavor with some skunk, and grain. Meh, but it could have been so much worse.

From a can. Clear golden color with small head. Aroma of some grain and corn. Tastes like steel city and Mon river water. Not bad but not good. Average carbonation. Slight metal. Gotta support the Yinzer beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Binny’s in Schaumburg, IL. Clear pale gold pour with a small white head. Corn, very light, mild carbonation. Exceedingly dull, but not offensive either.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Aroma-Grain is the predominant scent, I could not detect anything else. Appearance- This beer is a clear yellow with a white head Taste- Strong flavor of corn and malt, not terrible but not world class Palate- Medium bodied with a lot of carbonation Overall- barely average to me, but I am not from the local area for this brew. I hear this is held in reverence in Pittsburgh.

It is what it is, typical adjunct lager. Corn malts, slightly sweet, hops are nonapparent, pretty blah. But hey, i was in Pittsburgh.

From a stylish olde frothinggslish can. Yellow pour white head. Sweet corn and sugar aroma. Flavor is sweet and bland. In the up side wet cardboard associated with this style at times is minimal. Lingering sweet corn.

"From family back east after that best of the worst list came out. Pretty bad, but not the worst, macro corn and generic malty sweetness with little in the way of hops or anything else interesting. Refreshing ice cold on a hot day, but not good."

Transfer from BA review on 4-29-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – Pours a medium golden color with a billowy white head. The head had a surprising amount of retention but eventually faded to give only a very light amount of lacing. Smell – Corn and lighter caramel aromas are the heaviest (although still rather light). There is a very light metallic aroma mixed in as well. Taste – A sweeter corn and a decent bready malt flavor meet the tongue. There is a little bit of caramel that works its way in toward the middle of the taste, hiding some of the corn. A bit of the corn works its way back in and the caramel, corn and malt take the taste to the end. Mouthfeel – Lighter bodied with a medium level of carbonation. Very average for a lager and very fitting for the style. Overall – Mostly an average American adjunct lager but possibly a slight bit above average as its flavors are a bit on the more potent and easy drinking side.
