3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not bad. Very much like a Yuengling Light. I like the branding. Mustache and monocle on one side of the can, and a Bowie and 3 buttons on the other. If you stack 2 cans you can make a Frothingslosh Man. Also has witty saying on cans like, "Includes free liquid inside." 3 different color cans. Considering price point ($13 for 30 cans) very good.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
12oz bottle (old notes)-Pours a clear golden with a white head. Aroma of corn, sweetness, and pale lager aromas. Taste of the same. This light bodied brew is nothing to write home about.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz bottle. Didn’t pour it, straight out of the bottle, son! Not terrible actually! A great bad beer. Clean, decent palate, yeah it’s korny, but so what? It doesn’t offend, and that’s enough. Like Drinking American history.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
New Beer Distributors, NY can ($1.75): Pours pale gold with a small white head. Aroma is grain, and your basic pale lager smells. Taste is rather inoffensive, but there are a few off-putting notes in here. Mostly just watery and bland, of course. I was expecting it to be worse.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 4/20
Better than Coors and Budweiser but not as good as Pabst or Miller. I rated this on the can but I like I much better in a freezing cold bottle in a punk rock dive bar for a dollar a pop.

Can. One of the worst beers I have ever had, reminiscent of rotten bananas soaking in tap water.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
I poured a 16oz can into a mug. There was no decipherable freshness date.
Appearance: Urine-colored gold. Mostly clear with a slight cloudiness. Forms a large, white, sudsy head which evaporate quickly and leaves no lacing on the glass.
Smell: Standard adjunct lager aroma of sweet corn and grain. Not too offensive.
Taste: Despite hearing that Iron City Beer is one of the worst beers of all time, I have to admit that this beer is merely mediocre and not horrible. Perhaps my palate is developing a tolerance for these types of beers. Instead of tasting foul and off-putting, I mostly taste nothing at all. Oh sure it tastes like fizzy yellow beer, but that’s a difficult taste to truly describe. But if I must: it’s a flavor of sweet corn followed by a slightly metallic taste on the finish. That’s pretty much it. Had it been as neutral-tasting as say, Sapporo, I could honestly call this beer not bad. But the metallic and corn flavors get stronger and annoying as the beer warms, leading me to give this beer a thumbs down.
Drinkability: I was surprised to find that Iron City Beer was actually a bit refreshing for a few moments. At fridge temp the bland palate makes it rather drinker-friendly and the complete lack of aftertaste makes it highly tolerable. The mouthfeel is of course thin, but not overly spastic. At 4.5% ABV it practically is a "light" beer, but it’s too boring to session.
