1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 Radek Kliber (5171) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - OCT 27, 2005
Plane sweetness in the nose, touch of alcohol. Medium bodied, sweet but shallow malt, slightly acidic, alcoholic medium. Short finish. Very simplistic lager, with noticeable alcohol which is strange for such weak brew.
1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 shanereid (75) - Portsmouth, Virginia, USA - OCT 25, 2005
Very pale yellow with a very small head. The body was filled with grain and a slightly sweet aroma. Not much to see here, move on..
1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 Fish (440) - Kure, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 23, 2005
I had never heard of this brewery. I’m not sure how representative the Iron City Beer is of the brewery, but this was certainly not an impressive beer at all. *sigh* pale lagers still suck. Although it looks like this brewery does have a pale lager in the 95th percentile of its style. I’ll be on the lookout for more Iron City lagers in the future.
1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 daboskabouter (1470) - Fergus, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 16, 2005
Pale straw yellow colour with a small white head. The aroma is sweet and lightly grassy with hints of corn. The body is sweet and grainy with hints of sugar and light fruity notes. Routine lager here.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Boutip (3294) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 11, 2005
Aluminium bottle: Poured a pale yellow lager with a medium white bubbly head with good retention. Aroma of corn is clearly noticeable and very little else seems to pop out. Taste is refreshing with some malt presence and crisper hops then expected. Just above your average pale lager.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 scraff (2118) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - OCT 3, 2005
Sparkling gold, thin fizzy white head. Leave in the bottle for best aroma. You don’t really want to smell this in a pint glass. Creamed corn, and butterscotch, with a light fruitiness. Tasted pretty much the same. Light bodied, light carbonation, malty, corny finish. I’m serious...drink it from the bottle...
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 MrManning (1942) - London, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 17, 2005
Metal bottle from the LCBO- Pours a sparkling gold body, with a foamy white head. Aromas are some malt, cardboard, papery. Taste is sweet, off caramel flavours, paper. FInish is somewhat bitter. Slight metallic aftertaste. Ok.
2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 brandonfisher (16) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 14, 2005
The ole hometown beer that is a lot better than Rolling "Skunk" Rock. But not as great a anything from Penn Brewery. This beer has a head and is what I grew up with as a "golden" lager. The taste is something you develop over time with this beer and it tends to grow on you, but I drink this from time to time with my dad. The cans used to have all the Steelers on the can. When you tailgate near Hienz Field this is what to bring. GO STEELERS!!!!!!!
