16 ounce can! Oh yeah. Can thanks to TylerPow. Pours a clear golden color with almost no head after a few seconds. A sweet adjunct filled nose, corn and syrup. A sweet and fairly unoffensive flavor; light syrup akin to honey, grains and corn, only a bit dirty, mostly a clean flavor. OK.

Drank from the bottle at a Phish festival in Coventry, VT. Just a god awful beer, almost undrinkable.

Thin pale yellow body with light watery taste. Not much to say about this lackluster beer.

With Iron City now gone, not sure exactly who is making this beer, but I have a feeling it’s The Lion Brewery in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Having said that, the beer is the same as it ever was; average.
Pours a light yellow with a thin, white head that doesn’t last too long. Carbonation is a bit high, making this appear more like a cream soda than a beer.
Light malt aroma with a hint of corn. No hops detectable in the nose, and there is a slight metallic taste in the background, despite this beer coming from a bottle.
I found the beer a bit too average for it’s price here in New Jersey - It was found it in two locations, both were $5.99 a six pack. Price aside, it’s not the worst beer I’ve ever had by a long shot, but not the best by a long shot either!

meh, a drinkable lager. This is a cheap beer meant to be chugged similar on the west coast to a sessions lager etc. malty and sweet

Clear yellow gold shimmers beneath a surprisingly decent head. Only a gentle stream of carbonation meets my eyes while his head lingers as a thin white blanket. A couple swirls produce no lace, but the thin blanket remains. A sign of good fortune? Bar syrup rears its ugly head in his nose followed by sweet dinner rolls, butter rolls, butter cream, and white bread. There is more meat to the white bread which thankfully resembles real bread and not the other stuff. The butter lingers in the background while dinner rolls and grains take center stage along with lingering notes of bar syrup. Nervously, I slowly tread into his golden yellow depths, shallow end first please. Sweet, but not nearly as much as the nose suggested. Butter rolls and butter cream coat my lips and tongue while creamy grains and fresh warm bread flesh out the meat of his palate. There is a small dry bite in the back of each quaff which helps cleanse the palate. Oh my goodness, we have hops! Mercy me! Peaking their nose around the corner, peach and orange esters nervously enter the scene. Further quaffs find buttery breads making pleasantries with the faint peach and orange esters while the finish develops a more bitter, pithy character than ends with a final kiss of dry grass.
If I had to, I could actually drink the Iron City Lager. Not my first choice by a long shot, but he held his own, a proud feat many have tried and failed.

On tap at Blue Palms of all places. Didn’t finish the sample size pour. Speaking of pours, it comes in the glass with no head over a pale yellow body. Aroma? All I could smell was soft malt-tea. Nothing else at all. Flavor of corn, grain, urine, butter, acetaldehyde, and adjuncts. Watery and fizzy. Blah.

Another Christmas beer for 2009. The Iron City beer is well known lager along the East Coast. Not much on taste and uniqueness. The head disappeared with no lacing. The beer is watery and not very good.
