Rancid cheap beer. I dont care how long they’ve been brewing it. Its not good at all.

Yes! This gorgeous beverage poured a golden-yellow color reminiscent of the evening sun dabbling light on the rippled sands of Lake Michigan’s dune country. The whitish head, you ask? The frothing, biting advance of the whitecaps onto the sandy shore. The malty, corny and sweetish aroma and flavor? Why, haven’t I convinced you already? Just make sure you tread the dunes as softly and smoothly as this beer treads my palate. And may the dune grass kiss your feet as the hops embrace your tastebuds.

Bottle, lcbo. Yellow, thin white head. Corn aroma. Corn taste. Pretty bad. Harsh. Watery. Slightly sweet. Nope!

Yellow, big fizzy head that fades and remains a thinnish bit. Aroma of embalming fluid, yummy! Palate so rough that it practically chews on your tongue. Flavor of corn, hairspray. Nasty stuff.

12 oz. bottle via trade with Linus_Stick - Pours a clear golden color with a half finger thick white head. Very light carbonation. Has a sweet bread, grain malt aroma. Has a slightly bitter sweet grain flavor. No unpleasant aftertaste. Light to medium body. Not bad for an American Pale Lager. Much better than any BMC. Thanks Alan.

It has been some twenty years since I drank my last “Iron City” beer, and as I doubt it has changed much, it was still like seeing an old friend from my distant past, and memories are sometimes better than the real thing.
The archetypal lager pour, a resplendent gold color, the head brilliant white, modest in size, frothy in texture and as it erodes, it leaves behind a thin coating of lace. A quintessential lager nose, all malt, somewhat sweet, fresh and clean and altogether not a bad aroma. The start all malt, lightly sweet, the top skimpy in its feel to the palate, finish is stingingly acidic, the hops apropos to the style, dry long lasting aftertaste. Good “No”, bad “No”, drinkable yes, and still better than the big three, in my humble opinion that is.

Nothing special at all, in fact, pretty darn bad. Extremely surprised that it has such a high rating. The several perfect and near perfect ratings clustered around 6-17-01 seem highly suspicious (esp. as they were mostly entered by people who rated only 1 or 2 Pittsburgh beers in the database and put as their location only ’USA’) and may be the act of one lone soul trying to sustain Pittsburgh pride. Just trying to keep it fair. Well, at least they got the Steelers. This beer is pretty lousy overall--even for a macro.

Stupid aluminum bottle from the LCBO courtesy of HogTownHarry - shared with tupalev & jerc. Pale yellow colour, tiny head. Unoffensive macro-style aroma and flavour, with grain and corn notes. Bland, bland, bland.
