Good golden color, small white head that faded quite quickly.I'm trying to find the aroma and just can't it's so faint that all i can say is that i think there is malt possible corn and maybe some hops.I was using the force to detect that stuff. The flavor is mild corn malt and mostly water with a few hops thrown in to keep them from being totally ill-legit.I have to say that it is some what refreshing but then again so is water.this brew will do in a pinch if there is little else around but i'm glad i just have the one to sample any more would be a drag.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2003 It's always hard to describe American Standards. They all taste more or less the same. They taste like beer. No hints of coffee, no mild maltiness, no floral hop finish. It's all just personal prefrence and I prefer Iron City over almost every other beer of this style. Maybe it's because it's not as watery as other Americans maybe it's because my family is from Pittsburgh. I don't know but I like it.

pours clear yellow with a nice white head. aroma is roasted corn and filth. smell is like the rat cage my brother had when we were kids(that rst killed my parakeet too)gah, this is bad, rough grainey flavor that has a burnt taste, leaves my tongue dry and unhappy it still tastes better than it smells/ sour overall that is not good.

I just sort of naturally assumed it would completely and utterly suck, but really isn’t all that bad. Clear gold. Nose a bit grassy, some doughy malts. Flavor is reasonably smooth, not skunked, and chock full of corn, but not unpleasant or harsh in any way. Granted, I was tired and hot after shoveling dirt into a garden box, but all-in-all I could actually drink this on a hot day without too much trouble.

12 oz bottle from Trooper11 - thanks, I think. Clear light gold with a thin white head. Light, sweet bread and grass nose. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet bread and grass. Grassy light bitter finish. Better than expected, but I didn’t expect much. Body is far too light, but the taste isn’t bad. Minor edge on BMC.

Metal bottle from the LCBO- Pours a sparkling gold body, with a foamy white head. Aromas are some malt, cardboard, papery. Taste is sweet, off caramel flavours, paper. FInish is somewhat bitter. Slight metallic aftertaste. Ok.

Clear yellow pour with a good foamy head that actually lasts a while. Corn and grain in the aroma and flavor, with a noticable touch of hops. Better than most macro’s.

this is not a good beer, at all. pours a pale golden with a large white head. an aroma of corn and malts, the taste is also of corn and malts, nothing great. this beer is very boring and watered down, drinkable? yes, but i could find macros just as good.
