2.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 spikester (602) - Salem, Oregon, USA - APR 9, 2008
Pours light copper from the bottle with minimal head and no lacing.
Aroma is minimal, not offensive.
Palate is O.K., similar to mainstream macros.
Flavor is like Coors regular on steriods. Maybe a touch of MGD dumped in for the bitterness. Very unique brew for a macro competitor. If you happen across some give it a try. It has a metallic overtone to it also. Can’t decide if that is good or bad. It has a slighty dry, bitter finish. Not bad for an American traditional Lager.

Aroma of corn and dirty socks. Tastes of dishwater and corn. Only gets a 1 because of nostalgia.

In my opinion this is one of the best mass produced American beers. It does not come close to holding it’s own against a good craft brew or a specialty beer but it sure beats Bud or Miller.

This is a decent lager, kind of light and barleyish - kind of tastes crisp and refreshing, actually. It’s of course not great, but it *is* underrated. From Pennsylvania! My dad’s friend brought it down.

The 12 ounce bottle poured a crystal clear golden straw colored beverage with a small fizzy white head that was completely gone in 60 seconds and left no lacing on the glass. The aroma was somewhat complex and clean. It presented bread dough, notes of banana and straw with a hint of hops in the background. The body was light and refreshing with lively carbonation and a watery texture. The flavor started off lightly sweet with hints of banana. The finish is rather short. The sweetness lingers through the finish with no crispness or bitter aftertaste. Not as bad as I was led to believe.

"Iron City is proudly recognized as on of the finest lager producers in the country"- Iron City brewing. I personally beg to differ this stuff is NG. That being said I grab a 6er everytime I’m in the Burgh for props to my old man. He grew up on this and Black Lable. This being the better of the 2 by a large margin
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20 gilvanblight (544) - Windsor, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 5, 2006
Clear golden pour with a touch of red, large lasting head. Hops and slight sweetness in the scent. More taste then expected but still grainy and watery. An average generic ’beer’
2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 VitaminR (540) - Colorado, USA - APR 26, 2008
Grassy nose, some cornmeal. Golden color with a decent head. Bitter stale biscuit flavor--not necessarily a bad thing. Nicely carbonated, with a not bad herbal sourdough finish.
