Derek881 (321), Frederick, Maryland, USA Aug 5, 2008 Iron City Light is a quality light beer, and good for drinking in quantity. The aroma is a mixture of grainy hops with a touch of barley malt, but not too potent. It has a clear, light gold color with a small-medium, foamy, off-white head with modest retention. The flavor is largely grainy hops with a bit of malt, a sour-bitter blend, but a bit watery. A light, watery, thinner texture and mouthfeel, with low carbonation. Feels like I am drinking the crisp waters of the Monongahela! Guinness4Duff (457), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA Jul 26, 2008 Bottle. Pale yellow pour with a white head. Has a sweet grainy aroma with some very light hop spice detectable. Flavor is a little sweet with a grainy maltiness and light bitterness in the finish. Not terrible as far as light beers go.. Naka (407), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 2, 2008 A clear pale golden color with a small 1-finger fizzy head gone after a few seconds. A lot of spritz to it. Aroma is a super sweet toffee, corn, and apple. The flavor is like a pale lager mixed with apple juice. Has a slight dryness about it though. Very thin and watery. I’ll probably drink it or it’s non-light brother again, but only because I’m from Pittsburgh. ChainGangGuy (1511), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jun 10, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, light yellow body with a small, wispy, white head.
Smell: Sweet-smell cereal nose and that’s about it.
Taste: Cereal taste with a few drops of medium sweet corn cyrup added. No real hop bitterness. Flavor grows increasingly watery on towards the clean, though empty finish.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation. Watery.
Drinkability: A fairly empty beer experience, though, surprisingly, it was a bit more tolerable than the standard Iron City. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Jun 7, 2008 Date: 06/06/2008
