COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Helping us usher in the new golden age for the beer rebel (fittingly enough) is Golden Age. Nothing quenches the thirst of today’s active dissenter better than this citrusy tasting concoction. The mesmerizing march of perfect champagne-like bubbles to the foam front draws you in. Hints of lemon, grape, and apple keep you coming back for more.

Bottle… Murky golden ale with a huge, creamy, off-white head. Excellent retention. Tangerine, red apple, toasty un-malted grains and clove reverberate throughout my olfactory system. Full-bodied with a stinging mouthfeel and prickly carbonation. The flavor provides un-aged, citric and minerally hop bitterness flanked by apples, pear and clove. Low sweetness… thank God. There is nice alcohol warmth, but describing this as “hot” would be extreme and inaccurate. Finishes fruity, spicy and moderately bitter. A bit tongue-numbing as well. This is how all tripels should be brewed. One of my least favorite styles truly satisfies here. I’m looking forward to trying more of this upstart brewery’s line. Exciting stuff.

(750ml bottle thanks to bu11zeye) clear gold-orange with soapy white bubbles. Nose of belgian candi sugar, marshmallow, medium sweet. Taste of spicy yeast, coriander, grape, apple, really estery. A bit too many esters for me. Medium to light body, well carbonated and dry.

750 from Frank Smith’s. Pours turbid vivid orange with huge 4-finger fluffy off-white head. Nose is funky malt, citric hops, champagny yeasty. Tastes dry, fruity, citric, with notes of apple, pear, white grape, mid-palate hops and yeasty spice. Stays pretty dry, but with multi-layered fruitiness, and a lot of complexity.

Fresh cut apples and funk on the nose. Hazy copper, efferevescent, enormous yellow head. Apple and apple core, light traces of funk. Light lemongrass in the end. Alcohol not too obvious. Kind of boring with not a lot happening.

750ml bottle. Rating #15. Yeasty, Misty and fruity aroma, a light hint of raisins maybe. Dark orange color with a big white head, quite a lot of carbonation actually there was a big pop when it was open. Sweet flavor, banana came to mind actually, more yeast as well. (1502)

750ml from Bev4Less. Found this one to be slightly more enjoyable than Iron Fist’s Saison. Dark gold pour, with nice carbonation and a fluffy, quite thick head. Nose was sharp but settled soon into pepper, lemon, and hints of yeast. Body was medium, slightly prickly mouthfeel. Some malts in there for backing but not too much, and this allowed the beer’s strengths (the interplay of citrus and spice) to come through a bit. Nothing especially distinctive about this one, but enjoyable.
