3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JCB (3859) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - FEB 13, 2011750ml from Bev4Less. Very interested to try this new Cali brewery and I found the results a bit uneven. Bright golden pour marred somewhat by too much cloudiness and sediment. Earthy looking head, a bit rocky, and sticky retention. Nose was pretty nice, filled with spices, mild tart notes, and a strong bready component. Unfortunately it was the latter that really dominated the flavors and made this beer one-dimensional.

Overall very good. Clear golden color with an aroma of lemony melon rinds, flavor is husky melon, lemons, orange, spiced herb

Sample at The Daily Growler on 2/9/13. Clear gold to amber pour with a medium beige head. Aroma of malt, funk and esters. Malty flavor with banana, pepper and clove before a malty finish.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 SlovakSniper (2195) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 3, 2013

Bottle from South Bay Drugs: Poured a dark yet glowing yellow with burnt orange tinting while the head developed as a thick layer of foam. Aroma is nicely spiced with a combination of authentic farmhouse Belgian yeast and scents of green herbs. The flavor is tangy with an upfront serving of Belgian yeast and spices that hint towards spearmint, clove, and crushed peppercorn. Alright beer, but since I’m not a huge fan of saisons or beers that have tons of dead yeast and floaties at the bottom, I can safely say I won’t be purchasing this beer again—now I would be willing to try it from the tap and hope it to be more fresher.

15 June 2012. Bottle. Dark gold, clear, no bubbles. Nose is slightly sweet, some faint coffee(?), moderate alcohol. Med body and slightly fizzy. Very sugary but moderate Belgian strong ale. Nice enough.

Draught B.C."H." over golden beer with orangey sheen. Orangepeel nose, slightly spicy and yeast byproducts. Very dry orangepeel flavour, with again the spicy, peppery yeastfeatures. Medium bodied at least; bit sharpish MF. Rather run-of-the-mill beer, very estery and yeast intoned.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 dmac (3219) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - MAR 13, 2012
750 ml bottle from Blue Dog Lansdale. Poured all head and it took a solid ten minutes to settle enough to really start rating. The pour was a deep sunbunrt orange body with lots of rising effervescence and a huge, I mean really really HUGE, rocky white head. Aroma is lots of yeast, wet old brown bread, gren apples, hints of butter and some spices. The body shockingly isn’t all carbonation and fizz. The body is on the fuller side with noticable carbonation but not horrible, a quick fading aftertaste with no noticable bitterness. The flavor is more one dimensional than the aroma with wet brown bread, slight fruitiness and Belgian yeast. This one was just a notch above drain pour.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 MattH (543) - California, USA - FEB 9, 2012
Bottle. Orange pour with a big off white head that recedes to white lacing. Aroma of crisp red apple, apple peel, and lemon. Taste includes that sweet yeasty flavor that many saisons and some other belgian beers have, along with a nice dryness. Finish is dry and slightly bitter. Carbonation is high.
