Traditionally, this Belgian style farmhouse ale was brewed in the winter to be enjoyed in the summer. Well, us revolutionaries pay little heed to such silly traditions. We brew our Saison year round because, frankly, we don’t want to wait so long for such a delicious beer. Hired Hand perfectly blends malty and sour notes, with a refreshing dry finish. Enjoyed by laborers and leaders alike.

On tap at Duke’s Waikiki 191214. Fresh and refreshing with great flavour and aroma. Paired well with my hula pie.

Pour is a bright golden with a small white head. Aroma is bubblegum sugar sweetness and a minor fruit. Flavor is a decent citrus hop to start then comes some thick lager malt and ripened fruit notes. Finish has a almost syrupy thick honey sweetness. Very sweet toward the end of the swallow. Much to low on yeasty esters and too high with the sweetness to make this a great saison but this is still solid.

"Meh was the norm for Iron Fist, some worse, a couple better, but this one was straight down the middle. Nothing to distinguish itself. A little muddled with a light sweetness and hop presence and a little additional zest perhaps, but pretty mild."

Golden/amber pour with a light whitish head. Fruity/bready aroma with a slight funk. Pleasantly balanced, slightly sour with a hint of barn. A bit of citrus stepped on by the malt. Not half bad. Would I drink again? Yes. Would I order again? Yes.

Hazed gold, puffy white head. Some yeasty flavors up front, hints of tart and sour, a tad bit of funk, light fruity notes on the finish. Solid but nothing amazing.

A-pours am amber gold with solid lacing and one finger of off white head. Decent retention. S- strong biscuits malts, Belgium bubble gum yeasts, autumn spices, soap and astringent. Not much subtlety up front. Lemon zest, orangina, juniper and fresh cut grasses support. M- medium tacky body with a medium malty and bitter palate. Medium carbonation too. T- taste follows aroma. Strong astringent, yeast, cloves, and biscuits malts. Bubble gum, grass and soap follow suit. Mid palate is lingering biscuits with some buttermilk, orange pith, grapefruit and lemon. Ending is long, dry and bitter with more sharp grasses, juniper and dish soap.
