Impaled with hops. Nelson use was fantastic, really bitter hop bitter not astringent bitter. Somewhat one dimensional, but thatís what was intended when I bought it. Older bottle but still had huge spicy hops all way through.

On tap @ Burgundian. Pours crystal clear pale yellow with very thin lacy white head. Aroma is earthy, oaky dry pale malt with light vinous note on the back. Taste is crisp clean light pale malt, dry and earthy grassy hops on the finish. Very light and dry and thin for a pale ale, but quite drinkable and pleasant. Plenty of flavor here regardless.

Bottled. Not sure what went wrong here but poured a dirty yellow and was a mouthful of astringent grapefruit. Couldnít finish.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden straw color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, orange zest, pear, apple, white grape, peppercorn, cracker, bread, herbal, straw, grass, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of bright citrus/fruity hops and light-moderate pale malt balance; with good strength. Taste of lemon, orange zest, pear, apple, white grape, peppercorn, cracker, bread, herbal, straw, grass, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Good amount of peppery bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange zest, pear, apple, white grape, peppercorn, cracker, bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of bright citrus/fruity hops and light-moderate pale malt balance; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a very nice pale ale style. All around good complexity and robustness of bright citrus/fruity hops and light-moderate pale malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

So, are we running out of decent names for breweries in californ-eye-eh?? From a bottle looks like a wit beer almost. Smell is a little hoppy. Yes, does have some green grapefruit attributes. Could almost be a lighter IPA. Comes across stronger than 5% fer sure. Now a lasting astringent bitter thing set s in in the finish. Fer sure, I pa territory but less viscous on the palate. Canít taste the wheat thing other mention here. Every swig evolves from this fruity green grapefruit citrus thing into a bustling ambiguous piercing ale bitter bite.

This is an ok pale ale but I donít see what the hypes about. This one is wheat tasting behind the hops?? Not great in color. Big head. Maybe I needed a fresh one or one on tap as mine was enjoyed from a bottle.

Jado (614) - Camp Hill, AUSTRALIA - OCT 23, 2014
From 355 ml bottle. Pours a mostly clear yellow-gold with a fluffy lasting white head that leaves good lacing. Aromas of lemon, cut grass, white bread and white wine. Taste is light sweetness at first, quickly overtaken by a firm grapefruit and lemon zest bitterness with a distinct peppery note. Slips away a bit at the end to a fairly clean finish. Fresh fruity aftertaste. Super refreshing pale ale.

BOTTLE. Straw blonde with minimal white head. Sweet citrus nose which rolled into sweet tropical fruit up front with a very small bitter finish. Really amazing flavours. Sourced Pourhouse
