Pours a finger and a half of head on a hazy light straw body. The aroma is faint lemon and grain. The taste is mild bitter lemon and mild malty sweet. The texture is crisp and fizzy. It’s fine.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (grapefruit, lemon, grass), with notes of cat pee and detergent. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Citrusy-grassy hops are brought down by unpleasant notes and grainy malt. Ok balance but a bit sour. Meh.

Bottle, shared with Parksy and Rosser. Milky lemon yellow, thick meringue of a head that sits like a permanent crown. Big lemon-lime, gooseberry, guava flavours. Very bright, moderate bitterness. So drinkable!

330ml bottle. A murky golden amber with a small but lasting white head. Resinous, piney hops with citrus pith and grapefruit. Some pale malt there but a little lacking in body to carry the hop load. Light to medium bodied, medium spritz and a long, hop-driven finish.

Not much malt and lots of Nelson Sauvin without bitterness. One of my favorite Pales along with Bale Breaker Field 41 and Black Market Aftermath.

Great example of Nelson hops. Light bitterness, tons of nelson aroma and crystal clear body. Shining example of the style

Great showcasing of Nelson Sauvin hops. The malt profile is gentle which really lets the hop shine. I could drink this beer all day long at 5% ABV. Definitely one that will have a place in my fridge all the time.

A steady pour into my Sierra Nevada IPA glass produces a three-finger thick, pale, off-white colored head; it is dense, long lasting, and leaves a nice lacing pattern on the sides of my glass. The beer is a golden color that shows a lightly hazed, straw-golden hue when held up to the light. The aroma has a spicy, fruity, hop focus to it that smells of pepper infused gooseberries, star-fruit, a bit of kiwi perhaps, and a green, grassy-fruitiness.

Dry and bitter up front, the beer has a light effervescent carbonation to it, but finishes smooth and easy. Peppery herbal notes up front, and lots of woody hop character play the lead role here, while the hop fruit character plays a supporting role as the malt character is quite restrained and dry. There is a cracker like grain finish here that adds some chewiness, but the malt clearly plays a supporting role here. There is a touch of peppery gooseberry flavor here that becomes just noticeable as the beer warms up.

Definitely a very quaffable brew, one I could easily drink a few of in a night. It is a bit too dry, in that the flavor doesn’t play up the juiciness of the hop character, at least for me, but it is still quite tasty.

>> Sparkling white pour with good foam. Super dry body. Grassy flavor with white grape juice concentrate. Nose is gamey hops, white grape concentrate, Nelson gooseberry is pretty muted and hard to detect. My wife hates Nelson hops and didn’t mind this one.

Santa Clara, Ca - Santa Clara Liquors - 22 oz bomber. Hazy, light yellow pour, firm snow-white head that leaves a nice trail of lacing. Aroma has hints of fresh pineapple, a touch of coriander. Refreshing flavor with some pineapple fruitiness, a touch light citrus bitterness, some light saffron spiciness. Thick, rich moutfeel. Enjoyed this after hiking to Union Point on the Four Mile Trail in Yosemite.
