On draught at Humpy’s Big Island Alehouse. Yellowish golden color. Aroma is tart passionfruit, pineapple, and cedar resin. Taste is tart grapefruit, passionfruit, resin, and a hint of sweet citrus. Bitter finish, but also has a tropical fruit sweetness.

Very pleasant surprise! Very dry with a ton of citrus hoppiness. Nice head retention and good mouth feel. I really like this beer and look forward to drinking in very often.

A very Belgian pale ale. Looks unexpectedly light, straw yellow with bubbly thick white head and legs, very cloudy and slightly dull. Smells of wheat beer esters (light clove/spice, banana) and Nelson Sauvin hops (white wine, grapes). Tastes of hop, grapefruit peel. Frothy body with dry finish.

Bottle from Brewcraft at home. Very hazy straw yellow pour with dense foamy white head. Smells Belgian-y with bright Nelson Sauvin hops - lemony and wine-like. Taste is exactly as the aroma - surprisingly fresh tasting. Clean finish with a bit of spicy Belgian flavor. Pleasantly surprising - easy-drinking but lots of flavor, even if Belgian yeastiness isn't my favorite flavor generally. Could get this again.

On tap at Dutch’s. Keg filled November 13 (thanks, Natural State...). Mostly hazy bright golden color. Thin off-white head, leaves good thicker lace. Lighter body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. Good clean bready crockery malt, lightly peppery. Light citrus, kind of zesty, mild hop aromas, hint of pine. Moderate bitter taste, mild sweet. Not bad, despite being an older keg.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2014 The aroma promised a lot - but the body was not there at all. Very, very dry - not something I am looking for in a regular American Pale Ale.

Cloudy single hopped pale with nelson I would assume, poor head retention, moderate aroma and flat mouth feel.

Pour at anthill. Pours super light yellow with small white head. Very faint pilsner thing going on. Slight alfalfa and grain. Taste is light and bland.

Very pale as the name insinuates. Much maltier than it is hoppy. Hazy white with good head and lacing. Some mash malt sourness in finish. Light bitterness. Light citrus. Ok. Tap at DC Beer festival.

Unusually pale for of beer of this style and the aromas just smack of Sauvin with grapefruit, passionfruit and ripe green grapes. It makes me homesick for New Zealand and I’m still there and haven’t contemplated going anywhere else. The body is a little thinner than I had hoped with a good bitter twinge of citric grapefruit and some fluffy mouthfeel. It becomes more acidic and the bitterness ramps up the longer it sits on the palate. Acceptably tasty. I would need a few of these on tap in order for me to become a fan though.
