COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Variety is the spice of life. Every once-in-a-while, you’ve gotta mix things up. Our catalyst for such an excursion out of the ordinary is, um, actually spice. Spice of Life uses traditional brewing spices in a way few dare to. Forsaking traditional ideas of subtlety and cowardly “Pinch of This, Pinch of That” brewing techniques, we embrace the flavors and launch them into a full frontal assault of delicious bitter orange peel and grains of paradise. Beautifully smooth coriander compliments and orange peel perfectly.

750 ml bottle via trade with doubleo, thanks Kyle. Poured a thick solid brownish/orange body under an average sized foamy white head that has some serious lasting power with a small slick of head that lasts the duration. Aroma is spicey and sweet with lots of orange juice, grains of paradise and a touch of corriander to add the spice, sadly though a bit of butter. The body is averagely carbonated with a medium mouthfeel and a rather quick dissipating aftertaste. Flavor is much like the aroma with orange and grains of paradise dominating along with lighter notes of corriander, a slight hint of mint leaves and wet bread. Solid effort.

Draft to taster at Dutch’s. Looks alright; a transparent orange with very little carbonation and razor-thin white lacing. Smells of orange zest, caramel malt, coriander, and other spices. Tastes like it smells with a good mouthfeel. Not bad.

Flaska från SB. Grumlig ljusbrun färg. Skum som satte sig fort. Disktrasa i smak men annars inget som utmärker sig

750ml brown bottle, pours opaque orange-tawny colored with a small beige head, that reduced quickly leaving a little lacing. Aroma of herbs, spices, orange peels and banana. Flavour of herbs, orange peels, banana, pears and spices. Taste is light-medium sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium bodied, soft texture and average carbonation. Overall a good beer, but slightly too sweet and unbalanced. The orange flavour does not quite go together with all the spices and herbs.

High fluffy head. Tempting fragrance of flowers and resin, orange and herbs. Flat mouthfeel, low carbonation, medium of everything. The label build up my expectations but the beer doesn’t fill them. A rather average ale.

"A nice spicy saison style brew...one of their tastier brews, though it still seems to be lacking focus. the kaffir lime leaf version of this brew was pretty nice."

Flaska från systembolaget. Orange vätska vitt skum. Kryddig doft med mycket apelsin. Detta anas även i smaken som känns ganska rå. ganska bitter men samtigt lite tunn.

My Bottom Line:
Coriander and grains of paradise leap from the glass in this clean and unmemorable brew.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A rapidly diminishing veil of foam crowns the translucent amber.
-Aniseed allusions are also found underneath.
-Mouthfeel is relatively lean.
-This is quite drinkable despite the intensity of the spiciness.
-Blind, you don’t really know if you’re holding a bag of wet spices, a cup of herbal tea, an amped Witbier, etc.
-Hops and malt are only there to support the spices.
-It remains quite useful for many food pairings.

Bottle.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream colored head. Malt and spice aroma with light orange. Malt and spice flavor with light orange and light wheat. Medium bodied. Lower carbonation. malt and spice lingers with light orange and light wheat.

Yellow-orange pour with a white head. The aroma has some big spice notes with some orange citrus. The flavor is also very spicy with some bitter orange and grass notes from the hops. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
