COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Variety is the spice of life. Every once-in-a-while, you’ve gotta mix things up. Our catalyst for such an excursion out of the ordinary is, um, actually spice. Spice of Life uses traditional brewing spices in a way few dare to. Forsaking traditional ideas of subtlety and cowardly “Pinch of This, Pinch of That” brewing techniques, we embrace the flavors and launch them into a full frontal assault of delicious bitter orange peel and grains of paradise. Beautifully smooth coriander compliments and orange peel perfectly.

This golden beer has a distinctly spicy aroma. Very spicy flavor comes through strongly. It is unique but not overpowering. Paired with fish cakes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Overall, a nice unique beer. Pours a bright golden color with a white head. Smells herby, with some orange and lemon and wheat. Taste is peppery, with coriander, citrus and a spicy finish. Paired with Thai fish cakes, we notice less spice and pepper, and smooths out the beer. Had in the bottle.

Bottle. Hazy deep orange body with traces of smoke and a medium creamy white head. Very nice. Nose is red berries, clove, coriander, straw, hints of pale malts and citrus. Taste is citric peel, caramel, clove, all spice, coriander, wet grass, herbs and hints of white pepper, straw and wood. Medium to full body and carbonation. Lovely stuff really, spicy and complex, yet very drinkable.

My Bottom Line:
Coriander and grains of paradise leap from the glass in this clean and unmemorable brew.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A rapidly diminishing veil of foam crowns the translucent amber.
-Aniseed allusions are also found underneath.
-Mouthfeel is relatively lean.
-This is quite drinkable despite the intensity of the spiciness.
-Blind, you don’t really know if you’re holding a bag of wet spices, a cup of herbal tea, an amped Witbier, etc.
-Hops and malt are only there to support the spices.
-It remains quite useful for many food pairings.

Bottle.

Vetefruktig och smakrik. Ingen beska alls. En lättsam sällskaps öl för en ljummen försommarkväll.

High fluffy head. Tempting fragrance of flowers and resin, orange and herbs. Flat mouthfeel, low carbonation, medium of everything. The label build up my expectations but the beer doesn’t fill them. A rather average ale.

Eye: hazy amber with a mid-sized head.
Nose: Ripe fruit, caramel, orange peels, marzipan.
Mouth: Somewhat watery with a dry finish.
Tongue: Sweet, coriander, orange peels, some alcohol.
Brain: A little bit too watery and perhaps too much coriander.

650 ml bottle. Amber color with off white head. Aroma nice and fruity with citrus, sweet malt and caramel with big coriander notes. Taste is spicy, coriander, sweet malt and caramel.

Visually, nothing special. Pale brown and medium lasting head. Nose is herbs, spices and belgian yeast. Not to much on the palette, some of the spices defined on the label, belgian yeast and lots of carbonation. Rather thin body.
