COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
THATíS IT! Weíre throwing down the gauntlet. Literally. If you havenít tried craft brewed beer before, put the bottle youíre current-ly holding down and start somewhere else. This is not a good place to start. The Gauntlet is one seriously intense beer that should be reserved for only the boldest beer revolutionaries in the world. The inordinate amount of hop flavor and aroma that radiates from this creamy, froth covered liquid is enough to make this Brewmaster blush. If that sounds good to you, you can safely break your time on this earth down into 2 categories; the time before you tried The Gauntlet, and the time after. If not, the $5.00 50 packs are on the left

Mellow bitterness and plenty of melon in the aromatics and flavour department. Lots of booze for me.

Pours a hazy golden with a medium creamy white lacing head. Aroma of caramel, cardboard, light citrus. Flavor of pine, grapefruit, cardboard and lots of caramel.

From a bottle. Big biscuit aroma and huge hop flavours with a thick mouth feel, pine finish. Itís a very big beer and not for the faint of heart.

Location: 750 ml bottle from State Line, 1/24/15, Rating #4250

Aroma: It has a fruity aroma, a bit of astringency/cleaner, with resin and pine coming through later
Appearance: It pours an unclear orange color with a small beige head and some spotty, coating lace
Flavor: Flavor-wise, thereís a decent hop bitterness, slightly astringent, with a mild sweetness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a soft-to-average carbonation, and a rather dry, astringent finish
Overall Impression: This is an alright DIPA, but it falls short for me. The hops and hop flavors are not all that well rounded. I found it a bit too flawed. Too much astringency. Still, its a decent beer, but in this style, it is on the lower end for me.

Pours a pale, hazy orange with a good lasting head and a Sweet malty aroma. It has a velvet texture on the tongue and has massive hop finish with big hints of pine accompanied with slight roasty characters. Get a fist in ya!

It poured a cloudy brown color with an off-white head. The aroma was moderate to heavy earthy hops. The taste was medium to heavy hoppy bittersweet with a good bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Very tasty.

Not bad, but not up to SoCal double ipa standards either. Lots of pine and spice, with the citrus taking a back seat on this drive. Covers the abv well for 9+, but also isnít quite big enough elsewhere either... Good sessionable beer. surprisingly."
