Glowing ember pour with a fluffy eggshell crown. Rings of lacing remain in the glass. Candied citrus, sugar coated orange slices, resin, caramel, and alcohol. Beautiful beer that doesn’t quite hold up in other areas. A bit sweet for the style and wasn’t expecting the forward alcohol hit.

Tap at Victoria Gastro Pub. Pours clear orange with a medium, frothy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is pine, resin, and citrus hops with biscuit malt and pear esters. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness, somewhat pithy with light malt and fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

On tap 9 oz. pour at the Roasthouse Pub in Frederick, MD.
Very hazy, tarnished copper red with an off-white head and very good lacing.
Aroma of pine, peaches, caramel and floral hops.
Taste of herbal hops, pine, floral hops, alcohol, mild citrus and some fairly deeply buried caramel.
Medium/full body and medium/high carbonation.
Overall, this DIPA is a bit heavy on bitter herbs and alcohol.

25.8 oz bottle - pours cloudy, hazy orange-crimson with bubbly white head, lasting and full. Big piney, orange, resiny notes on the nose. Good biscuit notes. More orange and resin on the taste, medium-full bodied with long finish. Tasty, makes me sneeze. Yes.

3/16/2011: Iron Fist The Gauntlet Imperial IPA...
Aroma: Ripe citrus fruits, floral edge, sugary malts. Appearance:
Dull amber color, cloudy; dense, thick, and long-lasting ivory head.
Flavor: Toffee maltiness with lots of hops flavors (citrus,
GRAPEFRUIT, pine), but not a whole lot of bitterness; a little soapy;
some good bite starts to come through in the dry finish (if only the
whole beer drank like the finish); alcohol masked. Palate:
Medium-full body; thick, oily, and a bit chewy; smooth and mellow.
Overall: Quite a mouthful for an Imperial IPA, needs more hops and
bitterness and A LOT less malt since it REALLY drowns out the
750 mL bottle (Alc. 9.5% by Vol.) shared by alexsdad06. Thanks
Brad! Rating #57 for this beer.

Tap @ Iron Fist... Poured pale golden/orange with a moderate head. Citrus and grassy hop character dominated this beast. But balanced and not overly bitter which was nice and not too much sweetness so the hops could still shine.

750 ml bottle from hopmasterflex (2011). Pours a cloudy deep reddish amber color with a big fluffy yellowish beige head that leaves sticky lace. The aroma has a big sweet malt burst, caramel, fruit and citrus and resiny hops. The flavor opens with a big sweet malt burst, caramel, fruits, citrus, resiny and some earthy hops. The finish does have good bitterness like an Imperial IPA should.

Tap at E! Burger. Rating #53. Hazy, bright orange pour with an off-white head that left some great lacing. Aroma has lots of citrus, grapefruit especially, very nice. Nice flavor, big bitterness, more citrus and very enjoyable. Good stuff. (2508)
