Flaska från Systembolaget. Mörk svart färg och oljig. Tjockt skum som stannar. Lätt smak av kanel och rostad kaffe. Mjuk lakrits som avslutning.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Opaque black liquid with medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, bread, licorice, straw, chocolate, ash and dried fruit. Taste is dry and light to medium bitter with notes of coffee, chocolate and husk astringency. Medium bodied with medium carbonation and a weirdly powdery mouthfeel. A bit astringent and weird. Too bad when the aroma’s OK.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Almoust black liquid with a three finger high, brownbeige, fluffy head.
Nose: Vanilla, chocolate, coffee, smoke, ash, oak, rubber and roasted malt.
Taste: Smooth, really smooth taste! For an Imperial Stout - almoust a little bit waterish. Coffe, dry cocoa, smoked ham, ash, dark fruit, soy sauce and molasses.
Where have I’ve sensed this before? Yep! It makes me thining about Alaskan Smoked Porter! I get the same notes here!
Mouthfeel: A rich texture and well enbedded carbonation with almoust no alcohol taste. Really well hidden! Oily, smooth, complex and still very easy drinking!
I like this! But then I really like Alaskan Smoked Porter also...
Today I only bought two bottles - I’m going to get more of this lovely beer!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle, shared with Parksy and Grippitis. Hearty near black pour with a slow-to-rise brown head. Rich aroma full of roasty character, slightly burnt. Full bodied and densely flavoured, featuring burnt beans, dusty cocoa, light ash, light aniseed, and some dark fruit acidity. Nuanced and velvety smooth. Excellent.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at Systembolaget tasting. Somewhat boozy smell, some herbs and chocolate. Some roasted notes in the taste, toasted bread mixed with chocolate and coffee. There is something else there, a spice or something from the yeast? A bit herbal and undefined.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a very dark black body under a small fizzy dark brown head. Zero light penetration. The nose is really roasty and slightly burnt with some nice chocolate undertones and a minimal touch of alcohol.
The flavor is pretty balanced between the roast notes and the chocolate notes. Really well hidden alcohol in this one, this doesn’t even give a hint that it’s 9%. Finishes with a lingering cocoa note and some light coffee. Medium bodied, a little clingy, soft gentle carbonation. Pretty nice beer, the name is quite fitting. The taste is indeed like velvet, but I think the fist part will arrive after I down 25oz of this 9% bad boy.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of roasted dry malt notes with nice rich chocolates notes with a side of molasses. Taste is a very nice balance mxi between some roasted malt notes with some dry notes which are offset by creamy chocolates notes with medium sweetness notes of green molasses. Body is full with nice creamy texture with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very well brewed and probably one of my favorite beer from Iron Fist.
