3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma of raisins, dates, licorice and cocoa. Deep black with a moderate tan foam top. Full, rich flavors of chocolate, coffee, fudge and molasses. Very thick and rich. Overall, this is a heavy beer with over the top richness and tons of malt. I’d give this a B+ rating.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
750mL bottle pours with a pure darkness supporting a mocha colored head of foam. The aroma offers up big black licorice, lots of chocolate, some molasses and some dark roasted malts. The taste is indeed velvety smooth with rich dark chocolate goodness and then it gets into more chocolate, some dark roasted malts and ribbons of spicy black licorice knitted about ribbons of sweet molasses. Great stuff.

Poured pitch black with no head. Smelled of chocolate with a few notes of coffee. Initial taste was like a bite of dark chocolate. The mouthfeel was incredibly creamy. Would go great with some ice cream.
