Tap at Maple Shade. Pours an attractive dark copper color with a two finger off white head. Aroma is of some bready notes, light caramel and a light grassy hop aroma. Taste is clean and very straightforward, well balanced with notes of caramel, toasty bread notes, and a grassy slightly bitter finish. Well rounded, easy drinking beer.

On tap at the Lancaster location. This may have been the most authentic US brewed altbier that I have ever had. Clear light brown with a thin tan head. Smells of freshly baked bread and light grass. The flavor was that of a nice baguette crossed with a bit of graham cracker. Malty yet still very dry. Nice bitterness at the finish leaving a bit of a berry flavor. Bravo.

ROGUE (2200) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - MAY 3, 2010
On tap at brew pub. Poured a deep brown tinged copper with a thin off white head that left spotty lace. Smell of toffee, caramel, spicy hops, and light roasted malts. Taste was a good balance of hops and malt with a light roastiness and a bit of caramel, spice and fruitiness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with bitter hops clinging to the palate on the finish.

On Tap @ Newark-Murky copper/mahogany color w/a moderate off white head. Deep roasted malt aroma. Rich full roasted malt flavor; grass, bread dough, toffee, & caramel. Very smooth, creamy mouthfeel. This reminded me a lot of an Alaskan Amber, but didn’t have quite the that much bite on the finish. Had some carbonation as well. Very good session brew, quite enjoyable. Alcohol was well hidden.
