DeadGuyFrank (319), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA Apr 22, 2008 Iron Hill’s Baltic Porter is about as close to the Baltic as West Chester is...this a very light bodied version of their solid Pig Iron Porter. The flavor is like a dry Guinness that went flat. This sounds harsh, but it is not all that bad, just disappointing - I guess I have been suckered by the clever marketing and recent surge in Baltic Porters in the PA area.
TomDecapolis (2371), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA May 22, 2008 On tap at Pville for 08 Mug Club night. Pours a deeper brown with lots of amber highlights and a nice creamy tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate, toffee, hazelnuts and cocoa. Flavor was a chocolate milkshake, cocoa, toffee, hazelnuts and caramel notes. Great B Porter! hopscotch (4399), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 2, 2008 Bottle… DLD’08… Murky brown beer with a small, creamy, off-white head. Malty aroma offers notes of sweet chocolate, caramel and coffee. Full-bodied and creamy with modest carbonation. Chocolate and caramel sweetness… mocha too. Finishes mostly sweet and lightly bitter. cbkschubert (1533), Skyline, Arizona, USA Jul 10, 2007 750 ml bottle via trade with hopdog and shared with Bockyhorsey - Pours a dark brown color with a one finger thick light tan head that lasts. Very light lacing. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malt, and light vanilla. Flavor is much of the same with a light bitterness. Medium body. Smooth palate. The beer losts it’s fizz toward the end, but was a very nice beer. Thanks Steve. Bockyhorsey (1933), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jul 10, 2007 Cbkschubert was in my area and shared this bottle with me. Chocolate, caramel toffee aromas. Also had the aroma of brandy was suprised the alcohol content wasn’t higher. Black body with tan head. Creamy chocolate and toffee flavored licorice. Left a sweet toffee aftertaste on palate. Thanks Craig.
