On tap at Pville for 08 Mug Club night. Pours a deeper brown with lots of amber highlights and a nice creamy tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate, toffee, hazelnuts and cocoa. Flavor was a chocolate milkshake, cocoa, toffee, hazelnuts and caramel notes. Great B Porter!

Cask @ West Chester... Poured a dark brown / reddish color with a medium sized, tan, creamy head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, smoke, nuts, roasted malts, mocha, and alcohol. Taste of rich milk chocolate, roasted malts, smoke, nuts, vanilla cream, and light alcohol in the finish. Creamy, but thin mouthfeel.

Appears a black color with a small tan head. Streaky lacing is left around the glass. Smell is of vanilla cream, cocoa, and roasted nuts. Taste is of a yeasty blend of cocoa, nuts, and vanilla ice cream topped with some cocoa and coffee powders. Mouthfeel is smooth with the yeasty body and cocoa clinging to the palate.

kramer (4903) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 28, 2007
25 oz bottle, via Hopdog. Pours a clear mahogany brown with chestnut highlights under a smallish tight bubbled brown head that fell to a thin covering. Nose is huge chocolate and caramel with hints of smoke, cocoa powder, roast, coffee, licorice, and light yeast. A light bourbon like note as well that I suppose is just alcohol. Flavor is very chocolaty with lots of cocoa powder, especially on the finish. Not a whole lot of caramel, but there is some caramel like sweetness on the finish. No alcohol flavor at all, and a little bit of a tobacco note came out as it warmed. The mouthfeel is very smooth and velvety in texture. Nice soft fine carbonation. This beer coud easily pass for dessert. Maybe not the most stylisticlly faithful Baltic Porter, but this was a pleasure to drink.

Unlabelled 750ml corked and caged bottle courtesy of hopdog. After about 10 minutes of trying, I was finally able to get the cork out of the bottle. As the contents were poured into the glass, a dark brown beer with a generous tan head revealed itself. Aromas of bubblegum, chocolate and some vegatal qualities initially dominated before giving way to some subtle mocha and brown sugar. Tastes of chocolate (both dark and cocoa), and some vanilla. As the beer warms, the chocolate becomes even more pronounced and some booziness creeps in. Mouthfeel is robust and full. Finish is of bitter cooking cacao. One really needs to like chocolate to like this one (which fortunately I do). Some underlying coffee and well hidden earthy hops reveal themselves as the glass empties. A very interesting beer, but not typical of a Baltic Porter.

Cbkschubert was in my area and shared this bottle with me. Chocolate, caramel toffee aromas. Also had the aroma of brandy was suprised the alcohol content wasn’t higher. Black body with tan head. Creamy chocolate and toffee flavored licorice. Left a sweet toffee aftertaste on palate. Thanks Craig.
