Not entirely sure of the vintage. Purchased in 2009 and it was already on age then. Either a 2009 or 2008. Good sized head for a barleywine. Thin and consists of small and very dense bubbles. Fantastic carbonation keeps a thin sheen of foam on the surface. They got the carbonation level perfect with this one. Looks like liquid caramel in the glass. Sweet and malty aroma with caramel, toffee, brown sugar and some vanilla and dough. Powerful flavor with lots more caramel and sweet malts. Big, thick and chewey palate with a bit of raisin flavor late swallow. Noticable alcohol presence and warming. Goes down super smooth but with a bit of fizz in the mouth. Finishes sweet and warm. This is a fantastic barleywine. A little lax onthe hops and bitterness but I am sure that it was planned that way.

"Old Tom Barleywine" - Had a 4 oz sample from their sampler (so not the best foundation for a review)...but I thought this was very good. Strong alcohol aroma but the taste was surprisingly smooth...especially compared to the other barleywines Iíve had. They do it right at Iron Hill. Very good...Iíd have this one again.

Growler from egajdzis, Thanks Eric. Dark amber color. Good carbonation. Growler filled to the brim. Mild aroma with malt. Heavy body. Sweet. Tastes good, but young. Needs some age. I bet the barrel aged version of this is awesome.

From a corked magnum. Deep Amber reddish orange with thin semi Lacy beige head; aroma is so complex a blend of tart yeasty fruity malty woody notes; Flava is mild malt soft yeasty tartness notes of molasses; feels medium foamy very effervescent but soft and leaves a nice tingle in the tongue; finishes semi tart and malty sweet bready like buttered toast

"Old Tom" On tap at the Wilimington Brewery: Amber in color. Good lacing, and an ok head. Aroma was weak smell of dried fruit. Flavor was smooth! Sweet dried fruits. Texture was medium light, no carbonation. Over all pretty enjoyable but not as good as their sasquatch!
