Highly enjoyed this dark porter. Heavy bourbon aroma at the nose. Velvety smooth and creamy on the palate with hints of vanilla through out. A true winner that quickly found it’s way into a growler.

An absolutely sensational complex brew with a truly memorable flavor and taste. Powerful and potent blast of porter with a smooth trace of bourbon lingering in the palate. Not overbearing or not too pronounced. Smooth as a velvet stout. Deep thick black brew with a high viscosity. Imagine a Bells Porter mixed with a shot of Kentucky Gentleman! Wow!

On cask in North Wales. This was the most flavorful I.H. brew I think I’ve ever had. Poured dark brown, close to black with a light brown head. Aromoa was so oaky with lots of coffee and bourbon. Flavors were mostly light bourbon w/o the alcohol burn at first with a smooth oaky vanilla roasted malt taste smoothing out the finish. Highly recommended!!!

Draft at West Chester. This one is nitrogenated, with a dark burnt sienna pour and a super creamy head. Big aroma of malt, vanilla, oak, bourbon, caramel. Tastes very complex, with a super smooth finish. Lots of flavors intermingling here, including malt, oak, some chocolate, licorice, and berries, and finishing bourbon, oak, vanilla, and subdued rauch elements. If you live within 2 hours of an Iron Hill, do yourself a favor and make a visit. Their beers just keep getting better and better, and the food is out of this world. Hats off to West Chester brewer Chris LaPierre. Yeah, man!

I’m a huge fan of bourbon conditioned porters and stouts. Iron Hill’s Pig Iron Porter is an excellent base to build on. Bourbon oak aged nose, dark body and thin tan head. My palate was impressed with the chocolate, coffee, vanilla, malt and hop bitterness blend into a complex porter. Well done by Iron Hill, and maybe best kept as a small batch offering to maintain its full flavor.

A good mellow drinking experience. Very smooth, with a vanillla aroma and taste. The head is a beautiful creamy, rich tan colur, but did not interfear with the imbibement. The body is a dark amber brown with very slight viscosity. The smooth and robust sweetness is crafted well enough to be subtle and appears late on the palette without any major aftertaste. The light carbonation allowed the beer to dance briefly on the toungue as well as allow the alcohol to come forth slyly and compliment the refreshing presence of an appealing and mild bourbon.

On tap at the 04 Kennett Square BF. Poured a dark black with an off white head. Oaky, bourbon and smokey aroma. Chocolate and light vanilla in the taste as well. Smells a little better than it tastes. Thinner body. 9 4 7 3 16

Had this multiple times and each time I enjoyed it more. Increased the numbers. Nice wood, vanilla and bourbon mix!

Nitro. Pours a dark mahogany amber with a thick and creamy beige head. Aroma of strong bourbon, vanilla, malt and oak undertones. Taste of strong bourbon flavor, vanilla, oak and malt. Excellent.
