(750ml bottle, thanks kmweaver) Virtually no head (beige), brown-black body. Aroma is medium sweet, vanilla, some Bourbon, light anise. Taste is moderately sweet, vanilla, Bourbon, some chocolate. Flat, sticky full body. I know there’s a big beer under all that Bourbon, but you’d never know it.

Official bottle thanks to The_Epeeist and handbottle courtesy of axilla: Pours an oily opaque with a thin layer of dark mahogany edges and thin wispy tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and chocolate malts with some nice vanilla, bourbon oak and dark fruits. Starts rich and sweet without much carbonation but a lot of creamy chocolate and vanilla before a slightly drier oaky and warming bourbon finish. A very nice bourbon-aged imperial stout.

Draft at P-ville. Pours black with off-tan head. Nose is dark malt, bourbon, chocolate, molasses, figs. Hefty body, but as hefty as the regular version, with a pronounced bourbon flavor backed up by a solid dark malt bill, plus some chocolate, earthy peaty notes, figs, and molasses. Very solid beer.

Thanks to David for bringing the bottle! Poured very deep brown with a short yellowy-beige head that left a light ring after a couple minutes. The aroma was a delightful blend of darker chocolates, vanilla, and sweet bourbon.. soft barrel integration and well-executed.. a bit of molasses and oaky sourness round it out.. quite chocolatey overall and more oak than bourbon. The flavor was on par with the nose.. chocolate, molasses, and coffee at the core with sweet bourbon and vanilla cascading over the edges of the tongue, tangy oak sourness hits the edges.. bourbon and oak follow the chocolate through the finish.. very tasty! Medium plus bodied and a touch slick on the palate.. well-roasted and sticky on the finish.. lower carbonation.. This was a most excellent treat!

Bottle at Paul’s for the Blind Stout tasting. Pours a deep black with a thin beige head. Big bourbon still, loads of it, sweet and malty, oxidization and plums. Big cocoa and plums, chocolate, lots of sweet vanilla and cocoa. Roast, chocolate, long bourbon, cocoa, chocolate. Lingering roast with a touch of vanilla. Tasty.
