Wow, what a nice beer this is. Pours ruddy dark strawish brown with fluffy off-white head. Nose is candi sugary malt, white pepper, heavy oaky bourbon, hops, fruit, some yeasty florals. Palate is very complex with a solid heft. Nice rock sigary maltt mathced with yeasty esters, some earthy notes, and a very assertive bourbon element that doesn’t overpower the beer, but rather accompanies it in a very bold way. This is an outstanding brew.

On tap at Pville location. Pours a lightly hazy golden with a medium creamy off white head that left a bunch of lacing. Aroma of bourbon, oak, vanilla, lots of citrus notes, Tripel spiciness, floral, sugary/malt notes and bread. Flavor of bourbon, vanilla, oak, pepper, Tripel yeast esters, floral, Belgian candy sugar, dries out in the tail end. Very smooth and drinkable for the high abv and up front bourbon. The bourbon was there for sure but the tripel held up surprisingly well. I got just a hint of buttery popcorn that I’ve noticed in some of the other IH barrel aged beers.

Pours clear gold with a creamy medium white head...great lacing and retention. Aroma has bananas and apples...Light spice...mild booze..comes across as an apple brandy. Flavor follows suit...more like apple brandy than bourbon though the finish does bring in a notable warming bourbon. Tasty!

Pours a clear golden color with a thin white head. aroma has some fruits and spice, oak, and booziness. flavor is very oaky and a bit boozy with fruit and spice taking a back seat...a bit out of balance. mouthfeel is light and the finish is oaky/boozy and dry. too much booziness without the flavor.

I HAD THIS IN A SAMPLER AT IRON HILL AND IT WAS SO GOOD I ORDERED A GROWLER. NICE CLOUDY GOLDEN COLOR, WITH A SWEET AND FLOWERY SMELL.THE VANILLA TASTE IS STRONG WITH A NICE MILD OAK AFTERTASTE I CAN NOT WAIT TO GO BACK HERE TO TRY SOME MORE.

On tap at Iron Hill Wilmington. Pours a hazy, light golden color with a small white head that quickly fades to a cap. Aroma is lots of bourbon with a bit slightly fruity and citric note, pepper, and a touch of oak. The bourbon flavor was big and right up front. As it warmed the bourbon faded and the sweetness and the fruits became more apparent. Finish has a slight alcohol burn. Full bodied, thick, resinous mouth feel.

UPDATED: SEP 9, 2008 Poured a lightly hazy golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, citrus, coriander, yeast, bourbon, and some plastic. Taste of citrus, earthy yeast, some spices, vanilla, light bourbon, and a dry, alcohol finish. Various batches of this come off very different.

Lightly hazed gold colored body. Hugely sharp bourbon-vanilla nose, really difficult to get past, but it’s actually quite nice... some honey sweetness and candy sugar buried beneath this hugely sweet vanilla-scented bourbon nose, but it doesn’t turn me away. Flavor is pasty and yeast heavy, some sharpness as well, alcohol easily noticed, and it has the distinct flavor of Irish whiskey, of all things... when warmer there’s more vanilla, candy sugar and true bourbon integrated with this Irish whiskey note... nice overall, warming.

(Hand bottle 37,5 cl) Courtesy of Storm. Hazy golden with a rough white head. Spicy bourbon aroma with some fruitiness. Surprisingly light-bodied with sweetish fruit and bourbon accents and a distinct alcoholic finish. 201008

On nitro 4 oz. taste at Iron Hill in West Chester, PA. Clear, golden color with a large, creamy near-white head and exceptionally full lacing. Aroma of plums, banana, tropical fruit, mild spices and sweet malt. Taste of sweet plums, banana, vanilla, tropical fruit, sweet malt, bourbon and pepper. Medium body and low/medium carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
