Had at RBWG 2010 amongst a slew of their lambics. The aroma on this is amazing sour fruits. The flavor is a little watery and minerally, but it’s still sour, fruity, and good. I can’t say the BA is that obvious.

(750ml bottle) Pours a cloudy reddish-purple with a small pinkish-purple head (smoothie looking). Aroma of black currants, blueberries, and wood. Flavor of black currants, vanilla, nougat, brett, and wood. Nicely acidic with a dry finish.

RBWG@RLRL-thanks to Kramer–750 ml bottle– pours an off white/pink head and cloudy pink color. Aroma is sour fruit. Taste is sour fruit, medium malt, yeast.

Bottle shared by Smokepot23 at Woodshop 5.0 (2/20/10): Pours a murky dark ruby with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of semi-sweet earthy black currants with some vinous oaky complexity. Body starts with pretty good fullness and finely dissolved carbonation with some rich dark fruity complexity and crisp tartness before a drier, somewhat puckering black currant finish. Pretty well-balanced and enjoyable.

Bottle, sampled at Woodshop 5.0 (2010) in Anaheim, shared with many Ratebeerians. Pours opaque dark orange, with some light white bubbles. Mildly sour aroma with notes of grass and flowers. A nice touch of funk throughout. Cassis comes through in the flavor, with a good touch of oak and sourness. Yeasty biscuit notes hang on the back end.

Poured a hazy amber color with a light pink hue and a very light pink head. Tart leathery aroma. Fruity with a mild sweetness. Nice funk. The flavor was tart and moderately acidic. Makes the mouth water. Light finish. Nice beer.

illidurit (2130) - Petaluma, California, USA - FEB 23, 2010
Bottle shared at Woodshop 5.0. Pours a hazy opaque brownish purple hue with a nice little white cap of foam. Sharp acidic aroma of berries, raisins, currants, maybe a hint of bretty solvent character. Flavor is mildly sweet with the berry notes but it fades into a tannic seedy note along with unripe drupelets. Medium acidity. Very nice American "lambic."

25.3 oz bottle. Clear pink orange with a persistent white cap. Gets murky halfway through the bottle. Nose is funky cider vinegar and currants. Medium light with a tingle. Taste is lemon, sweet and sour blackberries and leather. Fruity with just enough tartness. Pips in the bottom, pretty cool.

Big thanks to jdubfl for this one. A: Pours a dark maroonish brown hue with a nice pink tinged head. Light retention and no lace. S: Lots of dark berry, with milder notes of dark fruit. There is a mild earthiness with a nice underlying tartness. T: Currents, cherries, with a hint of rotting grapes. Mild tartness that is backed by a nice fruit sweetness. The tartness lasts longer in duration than the sweetness leading to a nice tanic berry tartness. M: Medium in body, smooth somewhat dry in the finish. D: Good, one of the better cassis beers.
