750ml bottle from Maple Shade shared at rb day at the track. Poured a dark blackish brown medium density with a smaller foamy beige head. Aroma of light bourbon, some sour notes, medicinal, wet burnt toast, tar, asphalt and wet charcoal. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a chalky finish. Flavor isnt quite as complex as the aroma, sourness, bourbon, wet burnt toast with light chocolate and some sour black cherry. Good but not great.

Aroma of chocolate cherry cordials, slight sap, and red wine. Pours deep Brown with sloppy film. Taste is sweet with brett yeast, cherry, oak and roast chocolate. Could be funkier but very pleasant.

Bottle from Newark. Extremely dark brown color, small tan head. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate covered raisins. Taste is softly sour prunes, plums, subtle coffee, subtle vanilla. Understated and subtle, a huge improvement over other sours from Iron Hill (Kreik et al). Very drinkable.

750 cc from P-ville location. I did not see a # on this, but was told there were only 20 of each. Shared with neighborhood friends on New Yearís Eve. Poured thick hazy black with fizzy khaki head that went away quickly. Nose was roasty rauchy dark malt, tart cherry, bourbon. Tasted of oaky bourbon, vanilla, a lot of tart cherries. This one, compared to the other versions, had more bourbon and woody smoky notes to me, with the overall tart cherry background being kicked up a seeming notch also.

Ive had the original in Ithaca and loved it and I loved this beer too. It seems like itís going to be a lot more complex then you think. Theres just a hint of bourbon and tart in the nose and the mouth is light with the same notes. Itís not overwhelming which isnt a bad thing. The barrel aging gives it an edge and the tart comes through more and more as it warms. All in all a great experience but at 30 bucks a bottle you may second guess yourself. I am sitting on a rum barrel version which Iím more excited for.

750ml, caged and corked bottle. Dark brown with a very small sized off white head. Aromas of cherries, wood, bourbon, and Iím getting some smokiness. Tastes of bourbon, cherries, wood, and light vanilla.

Bottle #9 courtesy of egajdzis. Poured a very dark cola with a small thin beige head and minimal lacing. Aroma includes cherry, bourbon, vanilla, Brett, and almond. Taste begins with chocolate and dark fruit followed by bourbon flavor and slight booziness and then a wave of tart cherry leading to a crisp finish. Tart cherry and dark chocolate flavors linger after each sip.
