Bottle from Wilmington location (I think). I sat on this bottle maybe too long (9ish months to a year). The pour was vigorous and very little carbonation. Sour and funky with a rum sweetness that was neither boozy or cloying. Some porteresque smoky notes were discernible underneath. An okay offering. Not spectacular. Should have gotten another bottle of RIS instead. :(

Bottle from Maple Shade via folks, thanks guys! Pours out a dark brown color with not much of an off white head. Aroma is funky brett, wood, sour cherries, lightly sweet/boozy eathy rum notes, and some wet soil. Taste is chocolate malt, roast, tobacco, rum, funky brett, some vanilla, light booze, some tart/acidic funk in the finish with a bit of lingering alcohol burn. Complex beer with a slightly thinner mouthfeel than I’d ideally like.

Bottle from Maple Shade shared at rb track day. Poured a thicker body dark black with an average tight foamy beige head. Aroma of light rum, dark toast, barrel, light sour cherry and lemon, burnt marshmellow. The body was thinner with light carbonation yet finishes foamy. Flavor of light rum, slight barrel, slight sourness, dark toast, some cherry and a light sour funk.

Bottle shared by Dave at the Racetrack Gathering. Pours a hazed black with a thin white head. Dirty cocoa, roast, soft acetic acid. Soft and sweet, cocoa, roast. Chocolate. Gentle acid, rum, wood. Tart acid. Tangy roast, dirty chocolate, roast. Tangy. Not as good as the bourbon.

Bottle at Monmouth Park tasting. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose and taste of chocolate covered sour cherry, sour berry fruits, red fruits, chalky cocoa, vanilla, oak and rum. Medium body.

750mL c&c thanks to Travlr! Clear black raspberry pour. Weak head. Nose brings some amazing funky red wine, raspberry, wine barrel, vanilla, chocolate chip cookie. Taste is not funky or sour really: red fruits, red wine tannic, chalky, cocoa powder dryness and bitterness. Nice and easily drinkable. Palate is a bit too chalky, powdery. Still, very enjoyable though red wine barrel seems the way to go with this base beer.

750 cc from P-ville location. Pours thick deep blackish with just the faintest amount of mahogany thru direct light and a minimal tan head. Nose is tart sour mashy black cherry, acidic lactic yeast, malt. Tastes tart, with charred black patent malt flavors, black currant, cherry, and backup hops. Finishes fruity, tart, lactic, and malty.
