3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Bilk (15) - Newark, Delaware, USA - JAN 27, 2012
Newark location. Very nice golden lager. Nice malt presence on the tongue with a pleasant noble hop finish. Nothing extravagant or outrageous, just a good beer. I will have this beer again, several times.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ROGUE (1315) - Newark, Delaware, USA - MAY 3, 2010
On tap at brew pub. Poured a clear golden yellow with two fingers of foamy white head with good retention and some lacing. Smell is slightly bready, with aromatic floral hops and light sweetness. Tastes of biscuit, toasted grain, light caramel, grapes, and lemon. Hops come through in the finish with a decent bite. Medium bodied with tight carbonation. Very easy to drink, quite sessionable.

On draft at the Lancaster location. Unlike eaglefan538 I didn’t feel this was true to style at all but I can agree that it was very good. A bit darker and much, much hoppier than every other Dortmunder I have ever had. Almost like a pils with a helles body. Flavor is very floral with a bit of hop spiciness as well. Fairly bitter, probably around 30-35 IBUs. The best beer I had at Iron Hill that day after several letdowns.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 eaglefan538 (2726) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - FEB 20, 2009
On draft at the Lancaster location. Pour was dead on for the style, nice golden color, decent carbonation on display, good white head retention. The aroma was doughy and grainy with some grassy hops. The flavor was outstanding within the style, all the aroma, crisp and clean grains, clean dry hops with some grass. Malts finish sweet but blanced by the dry hoppiness. One of the best shots at he style, although I haven’t done this style in the homeland. Perfect light and refreshing, but flavorful lager.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 guzzler67 (1373) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - SEP 16, 2004
Amber appearance with a small head. Fruity, malty aroma with notes of toasted bread and apples. Lacked balance with little noticable hoppiness. Mild carbonation, with a light bodied, non-descript flavor. Finish didn’t linger.

Copper gold. Little nose, a whiff of malt. Again sweet at first, less so than the helles, more fruity. Slight hops at end, bit of a lemony finish.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Probiere (992) - Iowa, USA - JUL 19, 2004
Mild berry smell, floral hops, honey. Taste caramel and biscuits tending towards malt overbalance, some flat sweetness, little hops. Tad bland but quaffable.

Poured a golden color with a small white head and some lacing on the glass. Aroma of oats, bread, caramel, and light hops. Taste of toasted berries, and also light caramel malts. Lively carbonation.
