COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A truly full-bodied beer. Fe-10 is rich, malty and very complex. Dark in color, this beer uses Belgian Abbey yeast, dark candi sugar and a huge assortment of specialty malts, providing layers of complex fruity aromas and flavors, with a warming alcohol finish.

#24 [Blind tasting @ Papsoe] large thick beige bubbly head that mostly lasted. Excellent lacework. Dark mahogany colour. My first impression is that of a very sweet Quardruple. Dried fruit, herbal, caramel. Over the palate hint of brown sugar, star aniseed and some bread. . Full bodied with soft carbonation and alcoholic texture. Heavy sweet flavour with light floral bitter feel. Sweet sugary herbal lingering finish. 3 / 6 / 7 / 3 / 14 = 3.3

Bottle from axilla. Pours dark copper with a fast fading head and a small ring of lace. Nose is bubblegum, banana, plums, sugary malts, and alcohol. Flavor has more banana, dark fruits, roasted malt, candied malts, and alcohol. Warm, slightly hot finish as is commercially described.

750ml bottle picked up by Dean with gift cards I got for Christmas, sorry I rated it without you buddy. Poured a nice looking super deep reddish/mahogany brown with a head size greatly determined by the vigorousness of the pour, mine had an average sized light beige creamy head with a rather vigorous pour. Aroma started off with some sharp sweetness like dark fruits and sugars in some fresh wort. With time some light dark alcohol notes like sherry appear along with brown bread dough, raisins, prune, plum, sugary chocolate and Belgian yeast. Body is a touch thinner than expected with a medium mouthfeel and average yet very bubbly carbonation and a long lingering aftertaste. Flavor is more chocolaty than I was expecting, light burnt malts, dark fruit skins, Belgian yeast, dark burnt sugar. Good beer, complex and big.

Bottle shared by iowaherkeye. Poured a clear ruddy brown color with an off white head. Molasses and toffee dominated the nose, but there was also a whiff of clove. Cloyingly sweet and a bit sticky with a splash of alcohol. I tasted toffee, date, molasses and hay. So so.

Bottle from the Wilmington brewpub. Pours dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of sweet candi sugar, soda, dark fruits. Flavor of roasted malts, toffee, soda, lots of malt, and yeast. Thick mouthfeel. Decent quad, but I think I would have liked this fresher. 7/4/7/4/15 (3.7/5)

At the 07 RBSG grand tasting. Fizzy brown head over a brown beer. Nose of corriader and cat box. Sweet grains, ripe plum, raisen toast and juicey friut sweetness. It bloomed as it warmed. Interesting beer, but I wouldn’t call it a quad.

Pours a bit crimson with not a lot of head. Aroma has some cherry notes. Nice hints of spice and sugar on the tongue. Mellow and warming. Lingers nicely on the tongue.

Courtesy kramer. The pour yields a dark and hazy caramel brown body with ruby red highlights. A quick, foamy, tan colored head leaves minimal, spotty lacing behind. The aroma shows caramelized sugar, nougat, spiced figs, and hints of orange peel. Organic, earthy notes do well to cut the sweetness of the candy sugar. Likewise, flavors are well balanced between sweet, earthy, and fruity. Brown sugar and nougat again show strong, with hints of chocolate and various dark, caramelized fruits. Smooth and creamy, almost velvety on the palate. The alcohol is very well hidden, making this huge brew dangerously drinkable. Overall, I really enjoyed this one. I’d bet that this bottle was the beneficiary of some careful aging.
