Hazy red mahogany color; big head. Simple aroma, sweet caramel, very light cereals. Sweetish flavor, with some malt and caramel; correct bitterness. The alcohol is warming the mouth. No emotions, but not bad.

Not very carbonated, so not much head. Odd aroma - cinnamon and coffee, I guess. First sip indicates it may be a bit past it’s prime - some stale, cardboardy notes. Some smokey notes, some winey notes. Slightly boozy finish.

Clear brown body with a thin white head. Sweet malt aroma. The flavor is sweet but there’s not much else going on here. Needs complexity.

Pours dark brown with lacy head. Smell was strong of vanilla and alcohol. Found the alcohol taste to be a bit overwhelming but calmed down after first taste, that is probably the dangerous part sine this beer is 10%abv.

Bottle shared by iowaherkeye. Poured a clear ruddy brown color with an off white head. Molasses and toffee dominated the nose, but there was also a whiff of clove. Cloyingly sweet and a bit sticky with a splash of alcohol. I tasted toffee, date, molasses and hay. So so.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2007 Not so good. This beer has an aroma of Chinese takeout. It is brown in color, lots of malt in the flavor, but an off flavor of vegetables.

Growler... Dark, mostly clear burnt orange ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. The aroma provides notes of chocolate, banana and dark fruits. Sweet, chocolaty flavor. Not too boozy. Banana esters. Light smoke and spice phenols. A whisper of mint. Medium-bodied with soft carbonation. Finishes sweet, chocolaty and fruity. Kudos to kmweaver for picking up the growler!

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a huge orange head. The aroma is sweet malty and quite spicy. The flavor is sweet with notes of spices and vegetables, leading to a dry spicy finish. Thanks to Papsoe for sharing.
