| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 4, 2009 On tap at the Lancaster location. Brewed coffee aroma, fairly strong and musky. Light bitter coffee ground aroma with some chocolate and malty sweet aroma. Dark brown-black with creamy tan lacing head. Medium watery body with smooth carbonation. Starts with roasted grain, chocolate, coffee, and mild vanilla. Light dry hop bitter finish with some lingering lactose sweetness in the after. Well balanced and smooth - really more like a sweet stout than a porter but I still have not figured out the difference between an impy porter and a stout. Dry nutty coffee bitter after.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 2, 2010 Bottle at Paul’s: Deep brown pour with a tan film of head. Huge coffee aroma- so coffeeish it’s peppery (like freshly cut peppers, as noted by MaxxDaddy). Plenty of coffee grinds bombard the nose. Light body with an intense coffee flavor. A touch of chocolaty character and malt roast underneath (which you have to search for, and is detectable only upon warming up). Some dark crystal roast. I love coffee, but this just masks the base beer altogether making it hard to enjoy overall. One dimensional. Pastor (555), Maine, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 30, 2010 Bottle poured into a tulip glass consistently produced a two finger tan head, that trailed off to nothing after a while. The body was a typical black porter in color.
The aroma was a little light in the coffee department for a coffee porter. I was expecting more of an espresso note on the aroma. Maybe they should have not included the word imperial in the title. It was spot on in flavor, great coffee flavor with a little sweetness thrown in. It had a good medium to light feel in my mouth with a slight carbonation.
I easily finished the bottle while enjoying a night with some friends. The drinkability is fine. I would say I don’t think this brew translated well to the bottle compared to other coffee stouts and the review I see of others who tried it on tap. I thought it was an average coffee porter, again not anything Imperial in my book.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 26, 2010 750 ml bottle from IH lancaster, PA. Labeled as Afternoon Delight with neck tag. Pours a very deep dark black with a nice frothy lasting head. Aroma is so freakin intense with dank coffee beans, that it comes out more like fruity spicy ancho and poblano chile peppers- light jalapeno as well- coffee grounds, and fresh espresso mixed with tons of fresh bittersweet chocolate. Coffee and chocolate flavor- more pepperyness, chipotle spice, and pepper fruits, yet no spicy burn- other earthy spices as well- with the big roast and chocolate. Actually comes fairly close to the batch 1 awesome Hunahpu’s with all the pepper character I get- so maybe Hunapoopoo will taste similar to this. GMCC2181 (902), Bear/Elkton, Delaware, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 13, 2009 On cask at the Iron Hill Newark "Cask & Ye Shall Receive"-Black, cola like pour w/a slight off white head. Coffee aroma. Strong coffee flavor w/traces of chocolate, molassis, & woodsy overtones, probably a result of the cask style. Coffee is just overpowering in this one, don’t drink if you;re not a coffee drinker; fortunately, I am! Good after dinner brew, would be great w/a sweet desert, nice bitterness to balance it out. Strong, full, bitter coffee finish. alobar (1085), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
