On tap at Iron Hill in Phoenixville, PA. Pours amber with short-lived white head and nice lacing. Aroma and taste is of citrusy hops and caramel malt. Body is medium and crisp. Finish is long and bitter. On the whole it is a nice brew.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Sperine (172) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 4, 2013
On tap at IH NW. Although the North Wales location is right in my backyard, I have only had their primary house beer once because there is nothing impressive about it.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 raymow (763) - Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 24, 2013

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 cheap (3378) - Cheap Lager in Western, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 27, 2012
At the lancaster pub. Slightly darker than your typical pale ale. Pretty clean orangish color. Just plain old clean beer smell. Wew, rather strong on the palate, could pass for a milder ipa. Leaves a medium long bitter finish after each slug. Nearly flat just like many ipa. A tad wtery in body. CO2 makes it a littler easy to take.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 hivemind (658) - New York, New York, USA - JUL 29, 2012
Flight @ Iron Hill Newark on 6/24/2012. Pour is dark amber with a glossy sheen. Malty character too it; kind of bready. Bitter with dry/crusty finish. Nose MIA.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hellbilly (3249) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - JUN 13, 2012
on tap 6/10/12 in lancaster.
pours paler reddish amber than the vienna but not by much.
the aroma and flavor are almost obnoxiously floral....mixed with citrus /orange peel and juice and a bunch of spiciness.
the palate dries off on the end due to spicy hops. 6/3/6/3/14

Pours a clear golden/amber color with a thin white head. Aroma has faint citrus and spicy hops with a touch of caramel. Flavor has caramel and tea notes...a touch of spicy bitterness. Mouthfeel is light/medium and lively with a crisp, dry finish. Simple...clean and crisp pale ale.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BVery (4265) - Burnsville, Minnesota, USA - JUN 3, 2012
Tap at Iron Hill North Wales, PA. Wow - this is the obligatory pale ale at a chain brew pub, but it’s good! Big citrus and caramel nose and taste. Pours a rich clear gold with a clingy white head. I’m impressed.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 drunkenpolack (319) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - FEB 3, 2012
I actually really enjoyed it. I’m not much of a lager fan but this was a totally different animal. Rich, malt, and sweet. It had a kick to it. I also enjoyed a pint of their Belgian Wit. That was also pretty damn good. But if you know me well, you know I had to talk something home. This is where the Ironbound Ale came in. I took a look at Beer Advocate for something that wasn’t to huge and I came up with buying a growler of this APA.
Ironbound Ale pours a cloudy orange color. A huge head is poured with great lacing and retention. Smell is really nice and clean. A nice hop kick. Not IPA huge but really nice for an APA. Citrus and floral aromas with a nice caramel malt background.
Bottom line is this is one of the best American Pale Ales I’ve ever had. Taste is fresh, crisp, and clean. Nice amount of caramel and toasted malt. Mixed in with the fresh citrus hops and you have a real winner here. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, crisp, and goes down so easy
