4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 obxdude10 (1831) - Pottstown, USA - DEC 31, 2011
#1800!! And it could not have come at a better brewery with a better beer! I love IPAs and this one didn’t disappoint! This offering was crisp, refreshing and extremely delicious! It started off with a gold pour with a small white head. But the lace cascaded all the way down the inside of the glass. I got a ton of resiny and bitter hops in the nose, and they followed through in the flavors. The body was very smooth and drinkable. Along with all the spicy, dry and bitter hops, I noted some bready malt to balance everything out. This was definitely one of the better IPAs I’ve sampled lately, and I’m very proud to have it as my 1800th review!
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 dmac (2660) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - FEB 17, 2012
Growler from Iron Hill Maple Shade thanks to Dean. Poured a honey amber body underneath an average sized foamy bright white head. Aroma of sorachi ace, tropical fruits, uncooked dough, real vanilla, earth, wet bread, pepper and light citrus. Fuller bodied with strong carbonation and an average duration on the aftertaste. Flavor of tropical fruit meat, wet toast, earth, bread crusts, bitter hops, citrus rind and rotting citrus fruit. Good stuff overall, hell I rated it a 3.7, but sadly I was expecting a life changing IPA while this one is only great.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Leafs93 (986) - Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 8, 2012
Pours amber gold with a tan head. Aroma is grapefruit, resin and florals. Smells excellent. Taste is bittersweet with a crisp drying finish. Slick mouthfeel. Best beer I had at Iron Hill.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 watson1977 (1281) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 28, 2011
Pours a clear gold with a medium white head...nice lacing and retention. Aroma has nice pine and citrus notes...some malty sweet notes...very floral and leafy. Flavor has loads of fresh hop flavor...piney and spicy citrus notes...also a bit of butterscotchy malt notes (diacetyl?) But it works well here! Mouthfeel is light/medium and the finish is bitter and dry.
