GABF 2006. this was one I couldn’t wait to try! Amber with a slight haze. Aroma is mouth-watering! Tart cherries, barnyard, light sweat, sour fruits(lemon), and sharp cheesey wafts. Taste is equally sour with more cherry, lemon, banryard, horseblanket, wet leather and damp wood. Body is light and bubbly. Moderate acidity. Ends with more horsey notes, banryard, earthy flavors, cherries, and sour fruits. Very nice stuff!

Draft... GABF ’06... Murky straw-colored ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Funky, fruity nose with sharp, lambic notes of horse blanket, cherries, cheese and brett. Ultra sour flavor and barnyard funky with some biscuity, sugar cookie malt and breadsy yeast. Lightly sweet, but still totally unbalanced. "Total barnyard experience!" ... take that any way you like. Medium-bodied and astringent with lively carbonation. Lengthy, dry finish.

GABF 2006. The beer pours to a geuze colored glowing brassy golden body. Nice white head. The aroma is insanely geuzey with tart cherries and leathery funk. Some cheesey things going on too. The flavor is extremely toasty toffee, tart cherries, buttery. Very tart upfront on the palate. But then mellows and excites.

GABF 2005. Body is dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately yeasty (barnyard, horseblanket), with a note of cherry. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Another sour cherry brew sampled at GABF that seems to have a lot of potential.

Lightly sour and woody cherry aroma. Lightly hazy, pale copper coloured body with a low, off white head that recedes to a lasting cover. Biscuity malts and tart wheat are strong in the woody, musty flavour though fruit character is somewhat secondary and there is no real funk or farminess. Light body with strong, pointy, aggressive carbonation. Sampled at GABF 2005.

GABF 2005 (Kriek de Hill): Medium golden hue with fizzy head and little lace. The aroma has notes of tart cherries, bready malts and oak. The taste starts with a big twangy cherry bite supported by a yeasty background and moderate earthiness. The feel is dry and lively a makes the mouth water. I dig it even if it doesn’t display much lambic character.
