2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 joeymacaroni (309) - Wagontown, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 1, 2008
pours light yellow with no head. smells like bud. watery, lots of corn in the taste. slight sweetness. slight bitterness. lingering aftertaste of roast corn. better than the average light lager, but NOT my kind of beer.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 bubbleflubber (1423) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - JUL 16, 2008
On tap at the brewery. Pours light golden into the glass, with an initial head that leaves soapy lace. Some small citrus and wheat, maybe, but no real substance to the flavor palate. The finish is small and grassy, with a seltzery and hollow mouthfeel. My least favorite of the entire sampler offered. (Meeting with the brewer, he explained that this was the "macro" light offering, trying to offer this to patrons in the hopes that it might "switch" palates to better beers down the line. At least a nice incorporation to the business plan.)
2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 alobar (2297) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 6, 2008
On tap. Clear yellow color with no head. Some hay in the aroma with a taste of water and wheat. No bad, not much.
1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 TheCaptain (613) - Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 13, 2008
On tap at Iron Hill Lancaster - Pale yellow with thin buzzy head. Meh, some hops but really nothing to mention.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 JoeMcPhee (7620) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 14, 2008
Tap at Lancaster location. Pale straw colour. Aroma is light and hay-like. Short crisp finish with a bit of lingering floral character. Quite delicate and not bad, per se, but there is so much other great stuff here, that this one could be skipped.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 GMCC2181 (1424) - Newark, Delaware, USA - MAY 2, 2008
On tap at Newark location: A simple beer, light and refreshing. Not that bad to be honest. Better than most macros.
2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20 TonyDiUlio (640) - New Jersey, USA - FEB 24, 2008
very light beer, seemed almost flavorless, most like on the menu just for those who can’t handle a real beer and want something similar to a light beer.
1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 afireinside96 (924) - Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 11, 2008

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Funknmilla (647) - Wayne, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 17, 2008
Draft at Phoenixville location...light straw color small off-white head...smells fresh and light...its a miller lite on steroids
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 MartinT (6928) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 14, 2008
My Bottom Line:
Clean pils malt cereal flavors create some crunch and sweetness throughout, but all is so delicate and left alone in the flavor profile that interest dwindles quickly. This is clearly a "house blond" for the masses, not one brewed for the craft beer lover.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A tame head of foam stands atop the clear pale golden.
-Hopping is nearly absent.
-Carbonation is appropriate and the body is not too thin, which is a nice change of pace in this usually frail and vapid style.
-This remains quite drinkable, but there are so few flavors to enjoy that I do not see a purpose in drinking it. Especially when there are so many more interesting session beers being offered at Iron Hill.
On tap at the Wilmington brewpub.
