On tap at Iron Hill Maple Shade. Pours a crystal clear amber color with a small head of white foam. Aroma of rotted oranges, caramel, alcohol, and as hint of bail polish remover. Taste of grapefruit zest, rotted oranges, caramel malt, and a sweet graininess.

20140602 5 oz pour at Newark. Well this one is sweeter than I’d hope for a maibock, but after the doppel I had earlier in Wmton, I guess its not surprising. The plus is that it comes across as relatively fresh and the sweetness isn’t palate wrecking.

Draft at iron Hill. Pours clear copper with minimal white head. The aroma has caramel, light toast. The taste is lightly bitter with a thick caramel sweetness. A bit boozy.

Pours a clear golden/amber with a medium white head. Aroma has a light toasty toffee note. Flavor has toasty toffee up front and quickly balances with nice crisp bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish has a grassy dryness that lingers to spice.
