egajdzis (3021), Terrapin, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 17, 2007 [Cask] Poured a hazy brown color with a thin ring of off white bubbles, light lacing left on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, nuts, and caramel. Taste of nuts, caramel, smoke, toasted malts, toffee, and finishing hops. kkearn (689), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 4, 2007 Draft at Iron Hill Media. Pours deep amber with a moderate sized off-white head. Caramel malt and toffee aroma. Caramel malt flavor with a fair amount of hops in the finish. Well balanced and refreshing. scraff (1672), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Oct 4, 2006 Newark - Deep dark copper, white fizzy head. Nose held notes of roasted chocolate, touches of cherry, citrus, toast and earth. Well balanced with a nice malt tone throughout, and a good German hop bitterness pulling this together in the end. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying bittersweet finish. This was a nice surprise... eaglefan538 (2079), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Jun 7, 2006 Poured a light brown color with a nice thin head that yielded decent lacing. The aroma was malty with a hop touch. The flavor was similar, with some nuts coming through in the base malt. Unfortunately, I had this one at the Newark IH and experienced some soap in the flavor. Idiots down here don’t know how to wash the glassware. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with just the right level of carbonation. jcwattsrugger (4045), Florida and, New Jersey, USA May 12, 2006 on tap-pours an offwhite head with dark red color. Aroma is sweet, dark malt, smokey. Taste is smokey, sweet, dark malt.
