Tap at Maple Shade. Dark brown pour, nearly black. Bland aroma. Taste is nacho cheese doritos, malt, and some very sugary dark fruits like plum and fig. Easy going, not much to say.

I ordered this on tap from the Iron Hill Brewpub located in Maple Shade New Jersey, I received it in a snifter.

A: It was dark inside, but through the lights it looks clear and deep garnet. Iím not well versed in Wee Heavyís, but I liked how the body looked with itís tan head.

S: A bit weak, slight metallic on the nose with apples and pears coming through slightly.

T: A bit tart upfront, on the level of a granny smith apple, with a sweetness into a roasted malts finish. I enjoyed this, very easy to drink.

M: Creamy and thick, lively carbonation. Very easy to drink.

O: I enjoyed this there was a nice complexity to it with the sweetness from the sugars, tart from the fruit tastes, and a nice roasty finish. I wouldnít order it again, but I would recommend trying it!

Draft at Maple Shade. Pours out a dark brownish color with a moderate tan head. Aroma is of dark dried fruits, raisin, light sweetness and alcohol. Taste is dark dried fruit, namely raisin and fig, light earthy notes, slight alcohol on the finish. Solid Scotch ale.

Smells faintly of ginger and dark plums with just a hint of marshmallow. Very dark sienna in color with a small but thick head. Tastes much of the plum with a bit of tart banana. This finishes with sweet alcohol. Feels less roasty than a traditional scotch ale with a more syruppy feel. Overall, tasty but a little too sweet for what it was trying to do.

Strong charred vanilla bourbon aroma. Black in color with excellent espresso-like creamy head. The charred-vanilla-bourbon flavors carry through with a slight chocolatey roastiness. Excellent! The boubon perhaps overshadows the beer itself but itís stll great! Notes: Bourbon barrel aged, on nitro I believe.

Draft from Maple Shade. Poured a deep brown red body with an average sized foamy off white head. Aroma is sweet with notes of dark fruit, earth and alcohol. The flavor has less alcohol then the aroma and the earth and dark fruits are more apparent. The body is average to slightly thinner then I was anticipating with average carbonation and a kick off slight alcohol heat on the end. This is one really solid beer and my only complaint about Iron HIll is why do they have to be so damn far away. How about opening up one a little further east, say at the shore somehwere??
