egajdzis (3138), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 30, 2006 Poured an amber color with a medium sized, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast, caramel, nuts, and floral hops. Taste of more nuts and roast, some doughy nougat, chocolate, citrus hops, and a medium bitter finish. Creamy mouthfeel, very nice dunkel. DocLock (4175), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 3, 2004 Draft at North Wales. Another winner from my 2nd best sampler ever (2nd only to Victory’s massive 16 six-ouncers that I had over the summer.....which incidentally Victory gave me a hard time about ordering the next time I tried to order it...bastards.) At any rate, this one pours deep brown with ruby edges. Great aroma of malt, cabernet, nuts, and chocoff. Tastes bold, firm, with chocoff, some nuts, toffee, and corn flakes at the finish. This beer kicks ass and takes names. axilla (960), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 13, 2008 Newark. Pours a darker brown body with a small whiteish head. The aroma was sugared walnuts and carmel. The flavors were pretty sweet through-out with doughy notes and a mild bubblegum finish. Surprisingly tasty. Miver (477), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 14, 2008 On Draft at Newark. Poured brown with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel, and some nuts. Taste was sweet caramel, dough, and nutty. The finish was lingering candy sugar sweetness and showed very little hops. desurfer (1049), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA Jan 27, 2006 Wilmington. Dark reddish-brown with a huge beige head. Aroma is malty and sweet. Flavor is malt-dominated, with a good amount of nutty character and lots of doughy sweetness, as well as significant hoppiness. Finishes sweet with a good hop bite. Nice beer, and I should have taken better notes before drinking too much more and typing up this lame review.
