750mL bottle. Poured a lovely shade of reddish-amber with just about no head on top. The aroma was quite potent, with tart cherries, oak, and a bit of raw alcohol leading.. some darker fruits, molasses, and vanilla deeper down.. unabashedly big, but I was looking forward to it. The flavor found juicy dark fruits, berries, and peppery bourbon-like notes at the core with dry white pepper, oak, cloves, and tart cherries around.. spicy and dry on the finish with very tasty cherries and oak above all else.. oxidation rounded it out well right at the end. Heavier-bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. this got better and better with a little time to breathe.

Bottle @ Miami Fandango ’10 gathering. courtesy of gunhaver. pours dark amber, no head. Aroma, lots of cherry and oak with a touch of dark malts and candi sugar sweetness. Flavors, let this one warmed up a little bit and got a lot of oak with warming abv. Thick cherry, borderline on the black currants, hints of chocolate malts, Belgian yeast and dark sugar. Cherry tart aspect was rather thin possibly making room for the sweeter sugary palate. Finish keeps the same oaky notes and a long enjoyable cherry palate.
