Thanks to Exiled for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is heavy on the oak, with some nice lemon notes. There is also a little bit of yeast and some biscuit malt. The flavor has a little bit of tart lemon notes, with some oak, yeast and orange citrus thrown in. There is also a little bit of spice and a hint of brett. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

750ml bottle thanks to exiled. Cloudy amber brew, small white head. Aromas of oak and brett - tart and fruity. Flavors of spice, brett, citrus, and some spices. I’ve only had a few wine barrel aged brews but I like the results.

10 rater, making this beer legit now. 750mL shared by Bill, the geekest beer geek in KC. This bottle does not say anything about Sorachi hops but I think its the same beer anyway. A thick yellow cloudy color. Nose is very lactic. Flavor is thick sweet malt in a blanket of brettiness, floral brett. Its a thicker malt beer with brett all over it. Its nice, I liked it. Thick body, not a Saison.

Courtesy of Exiled. Hazy golden color/ white head. Lemon, wheat, barnyard bretty aromas. Light bodied. Lightly sweet pale malt, light pit fruit flavors with some wet wood--good

translucent gold, thin white head. Nose of lightly eggy Brett, mango, sea shells, faint sorachi in the nose hairs. More bitterness in flavor, very soft palate with toned down Brett, lightly sweet, not very dry. The hops and Brett win, not much dryness or earthiness from saison. Very pleasant, soft Brett forward beer, but overall a bit plain.

Huge thanks to yourefragile for providing this blind in the middle of our Blind BIF 5 box tasting (courtesy of dougofthefuture). Served in a Cantillon tulip. Funky IPA. That’s the start. The nose brings forward some light citrus and a bit of a floral character. Nice. Good characteristics. Mild oak and a bit of funk. Citrus comes through again. Good flavor with some earthiness and light citrus rind. Good dry finish with a bit of bitterness. Flavor has some moderate funk throughout; slightly reminiscent of Orval. Really dry throughout. Good carbonation. Very nice. Good beer. Always up for a good saison and this certainly delivered. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 05-14-2011
